Never change Zeon, never change. Zeon and Odd Mobile Suit Designs go together like corn and carrots.

The Juagg wasn't made for Unicorn anyway, just redrawn. It's one of those OYW designs that didn't get popular for a reason. :heh::uhoh:

It says TAMIYA COLOR FOR PLASTICS TS-80 FLAT CLEAR on the can.

I've used the same stuff on a number of other models (HG Kits, MG Kits) and never had that kind of problem.

weird... i have no clue what could have caused that then :T

Did you paint the inner frame straight without any coats of paint or primer? Well, TS-80 of Tamiya can damage decals, as the warning says, but as far as I've used it and some comments from other modelers, we haven't had problems with it. My only guess would be, TS line are lacquer paints, that's the reason why they dry fast. And Lacquer is known to melt plastic. I've actually tried to strip paint back then, stole some industrial grade lacquer thinner and dipped that part in it. After sometime, it melted the plastic, but that didn't happen until I mixed it, LOL!

Yeah, no paint. Lacquer based? How about Mr. Hobby top coat then? Is it the same? I'd like some topcoat that doesn't destroy my models. :( Do you guys know a few good modelling boards where I could ask around? I need to know for sure if I just made a mistake or if I should use another top coat. It was pretty cold outside. Could that be the reason?

Mr. Hobby has two kinds of topcoat. Mr. Topcoat is acrylic based and Mr. Super Clear is Lacquer based :)

For an official image of the MG Heavyarms EW, it sure looks unfinished (build-wise).

my green glow in the dark pigments just arrived^^ just mixed it with a little tamiya clear flat that i decantated from a spray can and put that on a clear leftover piece. looks really good so far!
but JESUS! that stuff gets EVERYWHERE! XD

when this mix i have right now looks good im gonna put it on my deathscyhte hell's beam effect part for now to see the effect on an actual model.

edit: this is going to look SO awesome XD

edit2: i think i have found a small problem with my little glow in the dark experiment... as it seems the lighting in my appartment is so terrible that the pigments dont get enough light during the day so the effect is incredibly faint XD gotta think about how to solve that now :P

If you could suggest 1 SD kit for me to build (any kit from any line), what would you suggest?

Preferably, I want something released in the 2000s... =)

im no fan of SD kits but there are some really awesome ones out there, especially the new ones. like the SD unicorn (both in unicorn and destroy mode), the SD sinanju, the SD kshatriya, the SD wing and all variations of the SD OO gundam.
those are the SDs that even i would consider buying even though i hate their deformed design^^

edit: they also announced the prizes for the G-shot competition categories: http://gundamguy.blogspot.com/2011/1...zes-for-5.html

interesting... so IF id win in the best straight build category id get both HG banshees and some markers. i could live with that! X3
but the prizes in the other categories are pretty awesome as well!

casval cehack 2011-11-15 23:28

Considering the amount of mobile suit debuts in HD thanks to Unicorn Episode 4, HGUC will be very busy next year. Hurray for the grunt suits.
