Shueisha and Animax Broadcast Japan announced the winner of its Shonen Jump+ x Animax Anime Scenario Award on September 8. Ryōto Hagi won the award with the story "Luger Code 1951."
Plot Summary:
Quote:

The story centers around the young linguistic genius and university professor Testa. He is introduced by his senior, Sergeant Rossa, to the Allied Cryptanalysis Department. There, he is tasked to break the enemy werewolves' code, which the warewolves are using to encrypt their radio transmissions. Testa is astounded, as the only sound the encrypted code produces is the howling of a wolf. His research yields no results, and he resolves to capture a live werewolf for better cryptanalysis. After exhausting all possible means, he finally finds a female werewolf, Yonaga.
Character Descriptions:
Spoiler:

It's getting both a manga and anime adaptation. Anyways, I thought the premise and character descriptions sounds kinda neat.

Hagi will receive 2 million yen (about US$17,000) for winning the contest. "Luger Code 1951" will also be adapted into a manga within the year in Shonen Jump+, the digital manga service run by Weekly Shonen Jump's editors. Animax will air an anime adaptation of the story next year.

Werewolf encryption? :twitch:

Actually, the story line sounds kind of ... interesting? And curious. Hmm.

.......werewolves? :heh: OK, why not?

Given Jump's involvement I'm not expecting it to be particularly serious, but it could be fun.

"Testa"
"Rossa"

...I'm pretty sure they're not being serious.

So a manga (three chapters worth) has been scanlated, and ... actually I kinda liked the storyline, though it was all over the place. But I think the series could have some potential to be pretty good if carefully handled.

Am looking forward to see what will be done with this one.

Are they turning that 3-chapters long story into tv series or tv movie/special?

That I am not sure about - have not heard anything concrete; but somehow I assumed it was a 1 cour anime adaptation that will air on tv based in the little bits of info trickled out in the thread here and that I have seen mentioned on a few sites of forthcoming airing series, etc.

The OP mentioned that the series written will get a manga and an anime adaptation, so if this were the manga adaptation perhaps the anime adaptation would include material from the manga adaptation and other things from the source it was adapted from? Just a guess.

looks good.........

Ooooh, that does look rather nice. I dig the overall art-style of the Key Visual too. Tentatively await to see a it more from this.

I still kinda giggle at how a bizarre sounding premise worked pretty well in the manga chapters I read :heh:

Still cautious, but I will say that the PV reminded me of the manga very effectively (as short as it was and all)....

Moving this one into the OVA section since it was basically a one-shot deal.

Kinda wasn't a whole lot that was special, I thought. Was pretty faithful to the manga I read, but that was about it. Not good but not bad either, I thought.
