Wow, freedom's suddenly getting a lot of attention, isn't it? First a RG, then a metal build version...

I may end up going for the RG instead of the MG. 00Q will take it's place as my first MG then :) or maybe Wing gundam tv version. Might be appropriate, seeing as how Wing introduced me to both gundam and anime in general...

RGs are tough to build in my opinion. many tiny parts and i always had the feeling that my RX-78 might break while i was building it :P
as far as MGs go the freedom was incredibly easy to build. the OOQ isnt difficult as well but in my opinion the freedom is pretty much ideal to start building MGs^^ its easy to build, it looks awesome and its a great kit overall.

Thanks for the tip Appel. I want at least one version of the Freedom. Then again, maybe Exia'll get a whack at RG, just hoping here. RG's look fun to build and to just look at, but maybe I'm rushing things a bit. Got any info on Wing? I never really liked wing itself in the series when I first watched it, but since then I've come to like the design.

Anyway, all my gunpla work in the future depends on the room I get. Currently looking for a place, and maybe I won't have room for building or displaying... (for anyone interested, I'm going to study Japanese :D).

we havent seen anything from the RG freedom yet so its really hard to tell which version will have more details or will be better overall. personally i simply prefer 1/100 MG models :P
im sure that we will see OO RG kits though, gundam OO is just way too popular not to have one!
i dont have anything to say about the TV version of the wing gundam, i have only built the new wing EW and wing zero EW. i dont know how different they are compared to the TV wing.
however, in the end it really doesnt matter which one of the mentioned MGs you buy. they are all great models and im pretty sure the RG freedom will be great, too!

Anyone here got the MG Epyon and notice how loose the wings feel? I was filling in some seams earlier today, picked up the wing unit and noticed they fell straight down D=

From what I've heard about the RG kits, they apparently have a lot of true parts. Anyone with RG kits here mind commenting on this? :)

Really? Thanks. I don't really consider myself as a good modeller and it was my first time doing that kind of paint scheme.

you dip the brush into some paint, brush off the paint again until the brush only gives a tiny bit of paint to the surface and then you paint the edges of the armor.
here is a video tutorial: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hWl8-cozI5w
its actually a fairly simple process which is why i would love to try it, too^^

Yeah, I drybrushed the metalic paint and mud stains but it wasn't the only technique I used. For the oil "bloodstains/splatters", I used some droplets of ink from my old rotring pen and made them run through the direction I wanted then lightly rubbed it with a cotton swab, so the ink won't completely cover-up the paint underneath. And I also used a marker for some burn marks on the lighter colored areas and grey Gundam marker on darker areas which was also rubbed before it could completely dry up.
