would you rather have the I-Justice handled the same way as the S-Freedom 1/100? <.< I'd take the lesser of two evils

DarkWarrior 2006-08-25 15:55

The 1/100 Strike Freedom is horrible, but it's not like the team behind it made it suck on purpose. I find it excusable for that reason. Maybe they were extremely rushed? Who knows.

On the other hand, Beecraft obviously changed the size of the beam boomerang on purpose. It wasn't a mistake; for some reason they thought doubling the size was a good idea. Same thing with the large beam cannons. Making some proportional adjustments here and there to make the model look better is acceptable, but changing the design too much is not. IMHO anyways.

Yeah, the beam boomerang is that way because it makes it easier to take out if it has that part sticking out of it. However, I liked the size of the Fortis cannons as they are - seems more beefier and says that Justice doesnt suck so much in ranged combat.

What do you mean by constructions horrors?

SNT1 2006-08-26 00:26

the kneecap part is really tough to slide down the leg (to the point you have to file down the inner kneecap part), at least thats what I keep hearing (reading) on mahq forums and dalong.net images.

Meehlimo 2006-08-27 02:20

Here are some of my many models and the 2 stargazer models are in there among the mess lol have a look if you feel curious. http://s46.photobucket.com/albums/f1...hlimo/Gundams/

- If you call a trifle as minor as that a construction horror, you haven't the will nor the skill to be a true Gunpla modeler, little grasshopper. :D

maybe I should just cry myself to a little hole now.

/sarcasm

nightbringer360 2006-08-27 07:41

Indeed.

Try putting together an assembly, and then realising that you'd forgotten to put in some part after paint it and all, and then having to pry it apart gently so that you don't break the assembled pieces, before reassembling.

I ran into that at least three times while doing my PG Strike (Pictures to follow).

theOtherGuy 2006-08-27 13:38

Isn't that why you're "suppose" to slice of a portion of the peg? (I have yet to try it).

SNT1 2006-08-27 13:59

its not a peg and hole construction---its a hollow kneecap armor slid down the knee joint. check dalong.net's images on thr MG F91.... what I see people are doing to counter this is by either filing down the knee joint to thin it down, or filing the insides of the kneecap armor.

dj898 2006-08-27 20:24

have a look here for dalong's comment on F91 kit with the fitting issue

^ What is more amazing is the fact that he built that MG Saviour off a MG Freedom. Now that is some mad conversion! Gotta give 'em props.

- Tak

dj898 2006-08-28 20:52

MG Freedom is used for virtually all of the conversion works nowadays

I've even seen someone used MG Freedom to convert 1/100 Dragnor-1 Custom

Tak 2006-08-28 21:11

^ No kidding, that is why I have purchased three MG Freedoms a while ago (before they ran out of stock! As they are now!) for that exclusive purpose :)

Irony of ironies...

What if Bandai mistakens this brisk sales of Freedom Gundam as proof that there is no market to design/produce/sell the other Master grades, like Infinite Justice?

When in reality, MG Freedom is selling well because there is a lack of other CE Gundam model varieties, and as such people were forced to make their own via the Freedom Gundam kits?:heh: :eyespin:

Infinite Justice doesn't have a Master Grade kit yet :( There are, however, MG Aile Strike and Strike Rouge (I own both), but they aren't as popular :(

Still, the lack of other CE MG kits forced people to search for alternatives, which by the way, is what allowed so much creativity (and some mad conversion work) to be seen. Not entirely a bad prospect, really.

I know. That's why I am saying it might be ironic that IJ might be prevented from being released due to brisk Freedom sales. The Marketing people might be fooled into believing Freedom is the only MS that sell:heh:
