Nice first episode.
Good ost and action sequences.
Only complaint is water texture.

Tenzen12 2019-10-03 16:35

I didn't play Azure Lane for long, but I remember one thing clearly. Nothing clear as well as Enterprise:heh:

Oh yes!

I was definitely looking forward to this and wasn't disappointed.

Very excited by the first episode and really looking forward to watching more.

Enjoy the game and enjoying this anime.

FlareKnight 2019-10-03 17:52

I'm going to admit, that was a fun first episode. I feel that first episode explained the story better than the game ever did :heh:.

But really, the episode looked good and was a fine introduction. We got a feel for the history of that setting, the status quo, major characters, and potential storylines. I'm looking forward to little things like Javelin, Laffey, Unicorn, etc reaching out to Ayanami again down the road.

Enterprise was awesome though. That established what an elite in that military force can accomplish. And I liked how they showed the gearing up/action. You can Unicorn flying about on a...unicorn, Kaga summoning a demonic fox to the fight, etc. This should be a pretty fun show. How good it will be I'm not sure. But fun seems to be there.

Wait, the Japanese are the bad guys? That's interesting.

Tenzen12 2019-10-03 19:23

It's pseudo WW2, what else should Japane be?

James Rye 2019-10-03 19:25

So another Kantai Collection Version with fox girl Akagi (sadistic Version) and Kaga (battle-hungry version) but with the japanese as the bad guy and an american ship girl as the MC? Is this game more popular or as popular as Kantai Collection? Seems to be even more pervy and over the top than KC. Not a bad first episode, a bit of a shame nobody got really done in but that's the same as in Kantai Collection, cannot really kill of any cute girl if you want your audience to keep watching. xD
I liked how the ships turn into the equipment of the ship girls but then I wonder what would happen to a ship girl if its ship was sunk in the harbor before she could put it on? Like is she just a normal girl then or does she die on land?
Guess Sakura Empire will be the main enemy with Iron Blood being more of a supporter role given the OP ship girls we saw. And ofc the grand enemy the Sirens will show up later as well.

The good guys. Japanese and Nazi Germans being the good guys in anime is basically the norm, so this is an interesting departure.

James Rye 2019-10-03 19:32

I can hardly remember any anime where german nazis were the "good guys".

Tenzen12 2019-10-03 19:33

Such norm pretty much doesn't exist.

Wandering Soul 2019-10-03 19:52

Japan may have a history of denying their, well history, but I don't recall a single anime where they portrayed Nazi Germany or their own Imperial state as good guys, much less it being the norm.

FlareKnight 2019-10-03 20:31

It is a bit different no doubt with Japan not being the good guy in a WW2-variant type anime. Not that they are avoiding having sympathetic figures. No doubt they'll lean on Ayanami for that. While we'll have Kaga and Akagi handling the role of being full blown crazy evil.

Master_Yoma 2019-10-03 21:18

Well a very nice start just so many characters right off the bat and just jumping right on in
