It looks like the 1/144 HG because both are based on the same lineart (i.e. BEECRAFT lineart). The Strike Noir is a BEECRAFT design after all...

Also, the 1/100 comparision is waaay off since the 1/100 SEED stuff followed Okawara's bastardized standardizing of the original designs...which were ironically Junichi's in the first place. The 1/144 HG Strike Noir is pretty much PERFECT in how it follows the lineart. The MG in retrospect would just be a bigger version of that with added gimmicks.

you know what bandai should do?, they should make a Gundam Evolve for both Hi Nu and Strike Noir to promote it lol that'd be interesting.

The Strike noir is lookin pritty cool right about now, to bad theres no stand tho :( I'd better start saving money

Yes, the Okawara's bastardized Strike is pretty sad,:heh: But the link comparision is just suppose to give you a basic idea of a similar mecha in HG 1/100 Vs MG 1/100. Just ignore the proportions and you will get a rough idea of differences in detail, posability, joint constructions, armor placements, seam line consealment, and the amount of parts. The MG Noir pack and all the weapons will have more details too. Of course the 1/144 HG Strike Noir is much better than than Okawara's piece of Poo 1/100 Strike.

I guess you might see the 1/144 HG Strike Noir as a almost prefect version because it follows the lineart, but other might want to see a Strike Noir that's better than "Almost" or "pretty much". People always want something better. The MG is not just a bigger HG version with added gimmicks, it's alot more than that. Crome coloring, lighting systems, and gold plated joints might be consider gimmicks, but calling more detail on everything, better posability, better construction, and pretty much better in everything else that you can think of as just add Gimmick is going a bit overboard.

Do you see a 1/60 Perfect Grades Strike just a bigger version of the 1/100Mastergrade Strike with added gimmicks? Because that's what you're saying about a 1/144 HG and 1/100 MG.

The only thing that you can consider the 1/144 HG Strike Noir better than a 1/100 MG Strike Noir is the lower price and the smaller size ( for people that like smaller mecha or have no more room to display them). Even with the lower price it is still debatable.

The 1/144 HG Strike Noir is good, but not 1/100 MG good.

Bandai might be working on them right now :)

Base on the pricing and all the recent Gundam Seed Mastergrades the chances of it including a Stand is very high. I'm pretty sure it will include some kind of stand. either a basic stand used on 1/100 HG or the better Action base style type.

kct 2007-02-06 21:21

Except that the 1/100 MG Noir might lose out to the 1/144 HG Noir in one thing.

The swivel waist (like the 1/100 MG Titans Gundam Mark II 2.0), or rather, the lack of one in the 1/100 MG Strike frame, while the 1/144 HG Noir have that. That is what I'm fearing right now...I hope there is a swivel waist for the 1/100 MG Noir, then it would be SOMETHING.

I like the 'buffed up' look of the 1/100 MG Noir though.

- The thing is--and this is IMHO--a Master Grade should have a little bit more detail. I know, it's basically a lineart follow-up to the original design. But I was hoping for it to look just a little bit, well, sharper. Maybe a little more panel lining. Or maybe I should see a completed version (paints, decals etc) to really appreciate it.

It's not that the MG is bad, but IMHO the HG Seed Strike Noir was such a well-made kit that I was expecting the MG version to rock a lot harder.

In any case--and mind you this doesn't mean I hate the MG--The Strike Noir is going down on my to get list for now, right behind the Hi-Nu.

upper right pic swivel?

kct 2007-02-06 21:54

OK, that part got me partially convinced about the MG Noir now, although more pics would be welcomed in this case...(but knowing Japan, we'll have to wait much later for them to show up).

If it is true then I can see people buying Noirs just to convert them to the original Strikes D: .

SNT1 2007-02-06 22:04

nah, its much easier to buy Strike + order the joint-swivel parts on HLJ/R10 :D

That's what it should be.

The Seed models followed that pretty well. The 1/144 HG, 1/100, and 1/60 strike all look the same with more details as the scale got larger and with more gimmicks.

The definition of the grade system has been muddled over the years and no longer reflects the original intention.

kct 2007-02-06 23:58

And of course, with the advent of the current generation of HGUCs and the level of details some of the SEED 1/100s are sporting (beginning with the Astrays)...the definition comes to only this.

HG/others: No internal frame.
MG: Internal frame added.
PG: Internal frame and misc. stuff added.

There, fixed it :heh: :heh: :heh:

Trust me, I know. RX-78, Zaku II, Wing 0 Custom, and my don't-know-if-Zeta-came-in-the-mail-yet in PG form, of course I know how many parts are involved :heh:

And, with PG you need tools! You need electrician skills! You need architectural skills on levels like no other! :heh: :heh:

/exaggeration

:heh:

My friend owns a fukn PG Wing Zero Custom. She reckons it took her 3 full days straight to build without taking any breaks (except toilet breaks, etc.) no sleep, nothing or any panel lining or painting.
I'll just stick to my MG's, thanks.

All the MG models by BEECRAFT have barely any panel lines on the outer pieces of armor. Instead, all the details are in the interior such as the skeleton and the interior of the armor.

There will be decals, this is just what the model looks like fully built without any paint or extras.

kct 2007-02-07 19:27

Of course, this is not a Ver. Ka we're talking about here.

The box art looks like some sketch...

Kasiro 2007-02-08 10:24

@Eznic, the frame and stuff is cool and all, but if it looks the same from the outside it's not really worth buying. It's not like i'm going to pose it in that retarded pose anyway...
The MG Strike looks way different than the HG one, while that picture really just shows us a bigger Strike, with supposedly an internal frame...
MG AKATSUKI NOW!
