Yes, that's good enough. Except for the wash, I'm still not sure...
Also, depends on what plastic. But lacquer primer is not recommended for Gunpla, IIRC. If you want to be sure, just test them on the runners/sprues. --- Anyway, do anyone here have an idea how Sei scratchbuilt 2 extra head vulcan into his Gunpla? Seems to be a tough job. |

Just get Tamiya acrylics. Stick with 1 brand and 1 type of paint.
|
Panel line wash shouldn't be the same type of paint you used on the kit, for example painted the kit with acrylic then enamel on the panel line wash. If you used one and the same type of paint both in painting and panel line wash, both of them will stick together or worse mixed up so if you tried to remove the excess panel lines then so does the paint. It's a simple logic like the oil and water won't be mixed together.
|
Paint with Tamiya acrylics.
Or what you can do is 'milk' Gundam Markers onto a paint tray, and then use it to hand brush gate marks. Then panel line with the panel lining Gundam Marker, and then spray a flat top coat over it. It'll give it the painted look with the details you want. |
finally is here!!!
http://i120.photobucket.com/albums/o...CFDF8B4D6C.jpg now i shall wait for the RG Destiny Heine ver.... |
Quote:
I was considering the RG Destiny Heine but I declined. =D I'm waiting for these right now: SD God SD Devil SD Shining MG Exia Repair 2 MG X RG Strike Freedom + Wings RG Destiny + Wings ...and some Action Base 1s and LED sets =D Lots of GunPla paid for. Now just a matter of time. |
Problem with the Gundam markers for panel lining is still a bit thick, more especially if you want to apply it on a very thin or very deep details which even the Gundam Markers can't even reach. So instead I use Copic Marker 0.03 on very thin panel lines which is even more thinner than Gundam Markers and on very deep details which is even the copic markers can even reach, I'll just use enamel wash instead.

It's still pretty thin and you can do what I and others do. Use it, and then wipe off excess with a q-tip/cotton swab. |
I already used Gundam marker before and it's still a bit thick compare to copic marker 0.03 as seen on the picture you've posted, never ever used Gundam markers since ages.

Call me lazy, but that's all I do.

Don't panel wash with enamel over acrylic. The lighter fluid will eat the paint! You can do panel washes with water and acrylic. It works the same as the enamel washes, just wait 3-5 days for the base paint to dry. You know already about clear coating before doing the wash, this step is the same, but when using acrylic it's critical that you leave the base coats dry, so they don't lift with the watered down acrylic wash. Use the same cotton swab/qtip method. You can get the same results.
Enamel panel washing is used for people who use lacquer paints as a base. Lacquer paints are the best but, they can eat plastics(best to use airbrush in thin coats, until you have a thin dry base you can paint over, so they don't eat the plastic). They are very toxic as well. A respirator is a must.(should use a mask for any painting) |

Ordered a HG Age-1 with razor parts and pre-ordered the MG X..... I can honestly say I actually hate deals, they always make me part with my hard earned cash when I'm not supposed too!!!:frustrated::upset: |

Even though Im in the US I have not checked GGInfinite much, so Im not too sure whether or not they periodically restock the exclusive kits when Bandai rereleases them or when they reprint/do another run of them Quote:

^ I know, right? :D
As for the gold-coated HG Phenex, I think it looks better than the MG: Dynamic tag cannot be rendered. (PrintableThread) I always prefer the HG's proportion, practicality and articulation than the MG's when it comes to Unicorn. I think I'll get that gold-coated HG Phenex coz I don't think there will be any gold coated RD Phenex in the future. |

Alright, I just finished the main body of the Strike Freedom... Now comes the "best" part, building the dragoons and wings >__>
I hate it when the manual just says "8x" for one section XD this is not gonna be fun at all... |
^ I don't know about you, but I think building SF's 8 Dragoons is not as boring as building Nu's Funnels. Then again, you're building PG, so I really can't say :p.
@SFV2: I know. I have MG Banshee & MG Titanium Unicorn. The Banshee is pretty okay-ish. No dynamic poses, very limited articulation of the limbs, the arms look too thin, and worse, it cannot stand at all when it's in Unicorn mode >_< (Curse you, NT-D transformation!!!). I'm still not done assembling my Titanium Unicorn yet. I hope it doesn't turn out (too) bad . |

MEDIC! WALLET DOWN!
And so the christmas hell begins. I went and ordered the HG F91 and a systems base as well.... This time of year is really a love and hate thing for me:heh: I'm really supposed to be saving for a tv but damn can't help it when it comes to this stuff. Hell if I crumble and take a jolly jaunt into the ship model section of HLJ I know I'll end buying something and there goes my budget for a new tv:uhoh: |
HG 00 vs. HG G vs. G X
Go! |

And any Gunpla builder worth his salt knows which one has the best articulation of the 3 |
Welp.
http://abload.de/img/dsc_4463zhc0q.jpg Now comes the 1 million dollar question that I always forget about before buying a new kit: Where do I put that monster...? |
I'm wholeheartedly pleased by the 3.0's hands. It intrigues me so much when I realise that the fingers can be posed individually.
At first glance, it looked like it was molded as a single piece on the MP runner but once I got it out... 0.0 @ Appel Holy shit! Not bad at all! Maybe you could leave standing atop your dining table. |
@ Appel
Request of size comparison to any HG kit you have plz? :naughty: Also, store it near easily seen places, workdesk for example. |

Here ya go. |
I see-HOLYSHIEEEETTTT
(Just realize that it's MG Strike Freedom on the right :uhoh:) Meanwhile, in Japan http://s12.postimg.org/xv1adtyp9/1385908725917.jpg Either Bearguy is understocked and Build Strike is overstocked, or Bandai is pessimistic and made too few. Alternatively, Bearguy sold like hotcakes. |
@ Appel
Great Job on your Strike Freedom, looks pretty amazing. Didn't take you that long to put it together, if I did a PG it would of taken me a year at least. lol Anyways good spot to place something that eye catching is somewhere around a tv, a bookself or a wall unit.. Just so that when you do watch tv you would be reminded of what a good job you did. Cheers! :) |
I finally finished build strike rm and proto zero. Both are very solid and now i will build hguc zz, gp02 and double x
|
Dem F91's, definitely getting me a HGUC since its so cheap (or perhaps I'll save for the MG,we'll see)
http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-lVCgYgE0UC...BANM131236.jpg http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-wS-RlBhKW4...BANM131239.jpg And please announce dat HGUC Crossbone lol, we all know its gonna get the treatment sooner or later for the All Gundam Project |
Guys, what do you think about 1/550 Dendrobium Orchis?
Do they require extensive paint or just a few itty bits? Because I read the reviews and each one are different... |
