This forum is for discussing and reviewing the latest events and happenings from the Akatsuki no Yona manga, both scanlated and raw. Given the buzz surrounding the anime, I felt it ideal to create a thread for manga readers to talk about manga developments the same way the anime-watchers are doing. I'm also hoping this forum can also help anime-only viewers answer the many questions they currently have, like whether Yona will ever retake the throne from Soo-won, whether King Il really killed Soo-won's father, or if Yona will ever know Hak loves her. Especially since the manga is still ongoing with no signs (yet) of an ending; which means no proper End for the anime. Shall we begin? |
Just gonna leave this here,

It's a shame that it's really hard to find the RAW, but it's only to be expected since it's a shoujo :heh: thank god that there's someone who diligently post spoilers every month in her blog :heh: |
Spoilers for next chapter are starting to circulate. They're making me really excited about this arc.

Just had the chance to read 102. Did anyone else notice how similar Hiryuu and Yona look? Especially in that panel where he says the dragons are getting along well (after their squabbling).
Hiryuu was so overprotective towards Zeno. I wonder if the embrace was because at that moment he realized what Zeno's power really was. It's curious why he never answered the question though. It seems cruel to let him find out by himself. I feel for Zeno, maybe even more than I did for Shin-ah. As touted as immortality is, it's more of a curse than anything. For him to slowly discover what had happened to his body, then see everyone pass on continually for centuries. How long did it take him to finally accept the truth and move on? Lastly, is the first Seiryuu really a man? That outfit is really feminine (the waist skirt + sash), but he looks like a male. Ugh, I can't decide. Maybe he's just a cross-dresser? (By the way, what should we decide on for the spoiler policy? It seems like every manga thread has its own informal policy on when you don't need spoiler tags anymore. I thought that since this chapter's been out for a few weeks, it seemed excessive to spoiler tag the above, but if you guys think we should wait until the scanlation is out, I'll go back and tag it.) |
Spoiler for ch 103:

^We do know that priests played a big role in politics up until about ten years prior to the story, when Soo-won's father kicked them out of the castle.

Just read the chapter and the last one too..fuck that was sad ;_;

I have a theory that Hiryuu's reincarnation had to be born in Hiryuu castle. Zeno mentioned something about the divine protection of the castle. His healing rate and the health of the other dragons are tied to how close/far they are to the castle. Then, if you remember way back when Soo-won was crowned, Yona seemed to hear parts of the ceremony while unconscious at Ik-su and Yoon's place.
I think Hiryuu spirit/power (and thus Yona) is directly connected to the castle somehow. |

I just re-read ch 103, Zeno said "At this castle where King Hiryuu sleeps..." I found my answer... |
If anyone wants to send their opinions and thoughts on Yona to mangaka Kusanagi Mizuho, mail them to:-
