I seriously don't know anything about this but seeing as Ryukishi07 and Peach-Pit did this, it's on my to-watch-list already. Plus, you just gotta love mystery ;D

The title is a Punny Name:
- Kamikakushi = Spirited away by the gods. (Remember how an arc in Higurashi was titled onikakushi - spirited away by the demons)
- Ookami = Wolf (Can also means "great god". Since the title is in hiragana, it's not clear.)
- Ookamikakushi = Spirited away by the wolves. :heh:

I'm expecting Higurashi-style horrors, what's with the ancient Japan atmosphere and all.

This is why one doesn't question the wolves.

I've followed Higurashi and Umineko, so this looks worth checking out, at least.

I hope in the actual anime the characters would look more grown up, in the screencaps they look like preteens despite the main character being 16 years old. But Ryukishi alone makes this piece pretty exciting.

Concept sounds interesting and I normally like Peach-Pit related stuff so Ill keep an eye on this.

The PVs on the website are violent. Not too many pics of the scythe wielder.

So we're talking about werewolves maybe?

Katsu Koneko 2009-08-22 23:42

I'm definitely keeping an eye on this, loved the PVs. owo Ryu07 AND Peach-Pit? That is awesome!

It seems the timeline is the summer of 1958 again, same as Higurashi.

Rayneing 2009-08-23 04:30

Higurashi was the summer of 1983.

Auria 2009-08-23 05:04

Is it 1958 or Shouwa 58? If it's the latter.. well.. Ryuukishis favorite time frame. DNA destroyed good detective stories =X

Looking forward to it. ~

Mizuno 2009-08-23 05:10

Yes showa 58, pardon me. So it's the same. It said so at 0:19 of that clip.

Superb. It's the first time I hear about this game at all. Anything by Ryukishi07 is bound to be Epic. Higurashi and Umineko are both incredibly incredible, so I have a lot of faith in their work. Even though I haven't played the game, I look forward to seeing this. About the game, is it only going to be available in Japan?

Mizuno 2009-08-23 05:59

I think I saw it on play-asia... so you can definitely import it over.

Shiroth 2009-08-23 06:00

Peach-Pit and Ryukishi07 together is like a match made in heaven. What a combination. Will be checking this out, hopefully give the game a play pretty soon.

NorthernFallout 2009-08-23 06:42

Definitely going up on the Observation list. Never heard of the game before but since Ryukishi07 is involved I doubt it can fail even by a little margin. Also judging from the game cover and the character designer, I think I'm going to like the design overall.

Sounds like an interesting plot, so I guess I'll be giving this series a shot whenever it comes out.
