Truth. Couldn't have said it better. She's the soul of the series...

Or ghost. :p

Spoiler for Shadow Yuuko:

I can't really tell due to the low quality of the images, but the environments and Yuuko herself look good. Not Maybe good, but still manages to carry the mature mood that the manga has. Hopefully, someone'll upload to the preview so we can actually see it =03.

Is that allowed (O.o)? *hurries up and downloads before it disappears*

Thanks a lot for the link =03!

What I said above still stands. I like the music they used here; it has that horror vibe, but at the same time, kinda playful, like some evil clown in a haunted house. It really suits Yuuko's persona :).

I'll renege on the comment about Yuuko's seiryuu. I'll wait until there's a more revealing trailer before I make a judgement, since that drama CD didn't have good scene transition being a direct manga-to-CD adaptation. That may have been the reason it felt off in places.

Love everything about Yuuko except for the lips. She doesn't look as playful. And I thought shadow Yuuko was a subliminal message :heh:

Shadow5YA 2011-12-22 00:22

From the PV, Yuuko's voice sounds tolerable to me.

HasuMasu 2011-12-22 01:36

The PV looks and sounds absolutely glorious.

Her lips throw me off a bit though, I don't really remember them being like that.

Shadow5YA 2011-12-22 02:02

The lips are a bit too wide... like Buriki wide. Maybe generally draws very thin lips.

MisaoFan 2011-12-22 13:34

It seems that the video was owned by Media Factory.

Yuuko usually "doesn't have lips", what threw me off the most from the PV was that her eyes where super wide, Yuuko usually has this sharp look and having big lips and eyes don't really represent that nicely.

Again this is the PV, in fact there is a fat chance that none of the images that we are seeing here make it to the actual show, so things could change.

The PV has this whole Tim Burtoneske feeling to it, and that's a very good direction to head when speaking of this series. BTW, I just noted that the last lines of the PVs are the first lines that Shadow Yuuko said to the regular crew, it was in chapter 13 I think.

Let's hope that Yuuko's nape wins and excellence award or something :heh:

strawberrypop 2011-12-22 16:34

That PV was fast.
Even the official site is opened now.

Been wanting to read the manga for a while, and that PV looks excellent. I'll be checking the anime for sure!

HasuMasu 2011-12-23 00:07

This is all happening really quickly, I wonder why. :heh:

Okay, so this is a repost of the staff for Tasogare Otome, with previous works added

Animation production: SILVER LINK (Baka and Test; C3; Tayutama – Kiss on my Deity).
Director: Shin OONUMA (Baka and Test; ef: a tale of memories; Natsu no Arashi!; other SHAFT works.)
Series Composition: Katsuhiko TAKAYAMA (Baka and Test; Mirai Nikki; ef; Ga-Rei: Zero; others)
Character design and animation director: Yukiko BAN (Umineko no Naku Koro ni; .hack//SIGN and other hacks; Psychic Detective Yakumo; 07-Ghost; Brave10)

What are your thoughts on the staff? I know that Yukiko Ban's works listed had low sales or were flops (especially Umineko and Psychic Detective Yakumo), but that is not a factor since she handles only the art portion. Takayama looks like a strong staff since he handled Mirai Nikki, which looks good currently.

Hara Yumi makes a pretty solid Yuuko. Though if one could choose, which person would be more suitable?

HasuMasu 2011-12-23 01:01

^ Hanazawa Kana. :heh:

On a more serious note, I honestly am not familiar with anybody working as the staff, I haven't watched any of their previous works.

Kana-chan will be playing Okonogi :D

You haven't watched nor Natsu no Arashi, nor Pani Poni Dash, not Baka to Test?(haven't watched Baka either)

HasuMasu 2011-12-23 08:41

^ Upon closer inspection, I've at least watched Umineko, but since I didn't really like that...:heh:

I'll give them the benefit of the doubt, because if they screw this up...well, Akahito-san will pay them a special visit. :uhoh:

Kanon 2011-12-23 08:44

Oonuma? I'm in!

I've always been meaning to check this manga out but I never got around to it. I'll just go with the anime then.

Actually if one looks at the staff career as a whole, you can see that they are pretty accomplished on their own right, so it might not be fair to just judge them on the latest things that they have done.

That + the fact that Silver Link has been a involved with having a second hand with many successful projects, but hasn't lead a big success on it's own makes me thing that they expect this to be their breakthrough by having the show being a hit to certain audiences; so they probably are gonna put a big effort on this.
