Damn Bandai. We should take over the company, then force them to make kits and stop re-releasing the same kit with a different weapon system.

If you're going to do that, then you should also go after other model kit companies like Tamiya, Italeri, Academy etc... they also release models in such a manner (and sometimes, the only differences are different decals).

Stop whining, and be grateful that at least we're actually getting model kits.

It would really suck to buy an MG strike with all packs if I just wanted the Aile variant....

Sorry, but this seems the real deal. Thinking about it, the 2500 yen difference justifies the quality.

1. 1500 yen for the gold plated parts which extends all the way to the inner mechanics, not just the joints as shown in earlier test shots.

2. 550 yen for the Action Base, 100 yen for the poster, 100 yen for the booklet and maybe 250 yen for the pipes.

Gundam Zero Force 2006-11-26 16:52

If only I had the time to make models . . . . :uhoh:

DarkWarrior 2006-11-26 17:12

Hmm, I could've sworn that the custom stand Bandai was talking about was the spider stand shown earlier, and not the action base. As I understood it, the regular Strike Freedom comes with a slightly modified Freedom stand, which has been changed so the tip can swivel up and down. And the special option Strike Freedom comes with the spider stand.. but then again I could be wrong.

M_Flores 2006-11-26 18:50

Damnit, looks like I'm gonna have to make a wings of paper again like I did with Destiny Gundam 1/100.
So what paper should I use for the wings? Should I use a light blue, or clear (see-through) white colored paper?

lol... this is just thinking way ahead now.

No idea >.> .

Any tutorials for GunPla around here? The parts tree is killing me (despite being mostly fine for a first-timer).

Among these 137 pages, or before the forum hack, there was a picture posted here that showed a dude working on some parts trees. Although it was in Japanese, the pictures were good enough....don't know where it is now :(

Here's a tutorial I made in Microsoft Power Point.

NOTE FINE PRINT: do you all see the
Japanese text in the white box on the lower right? And the fine print below it?

They basically say that this is a CONCEPT / "Impression" image only. It is
not supposed to be the final form of the option parts, as far as I can tell.

BUT, as mentioned, the gold parts in the kit are the same kind of plastic
colouring as in the NG kit. It's not the gleaming gold as shown in the
promo pics.

everyone be optismistic.....;)

MakubeX2 2006-11-27 08:14

I present my argument here again :-

If you are still not convince that Bandai will resort to cost cutting measure on this kit,

First, here's a blow up of the scan :-

http://img95.imageshack.us/img95/860...7904065tu0.jpg

Read 3rd line from the bottom :-

"限定版ではないめてご安心を"
"This will not be a limited edition, so don't worry"

So Bandai will resort to milking the SP.

Two, Gold Plating is never cheap. Compare the HG Akatsuki (2400 Yen) To HG Destiny Gundam (1500 yen), the 1/100 Gold Frame Amatu (3800 yen) to 1/100 Legend (2600 yen). Bandai promises Gold Plated parts for the SP, hence the most of the 2500 yen difference between the normal and the SP will go towards to paying the Gold Plating. Leaving them with litter or no cash to pay for other stuffs, so they might reuse parts (Action Base) or resort to cheap alternative (Clear plastic Dragoon Gimmicks)

Three, if this is an one time deal, Bandai might be kind enough to cover their losses by slashing prices, but as pointed out in the first part of my argument, it's not. So don't expect too much from the SP except the gold platting gimmicks and the packaging.

On a lighter note :-

http://img301.imageshack.us/img301/7...5566940zk9.jpg
lol, Devil Kerboros.

LoweGear 2006-11-27 08:29

Aren't we pessimistic here?

I know there are Bandai doubters around here (who can blame them), but I honestly don't believe they'd resort to that kind of thing for the SP (or Full Burst Mode Parts IIRC). They can create custom stands for the MG F91, and they can afford to make PG's and Gold Plated MG's. How can they not be able to deliver on the promised custom stand for the SP, when there's clearly lineart showing the concept for it (and Bandai's been known to stick VERY close to the lineart?)

And the "not limited edition" argument isn't convincing enough, as opposed to the "impression only" evidence shown. Bandai is RICH you know, despite the difficulties of marketing. Bandai can sometimes be lazy, but they've never cut corners like that before, especially not now on their most hyped up MS, the Strike Freedom. If they are milking the S-Freedom, then you know they're gonna devote a whole lot of time and money on giving us at least a decent product.

MakubeX2 2006-11-27 08:43

Yes. I do agreed that there's a standard to be met for Bandai, but what I'm not convince about is that a 2500 yen difference is enough to buy us Gold Platings with Good Extras, especially if Bandai is going to mass produce the SP.

If it's a one time deal, we can accept that Bandai will make something good for us at 2500 yen as a Christmas Present of sort for a good will gesture. But if they are mass producing it.....2500 yen may not be enough to cover everything.

In short, I asking everyone not to get their hope up if something disappointing comes up.

As a recent example, Bandai promises Glow-In-The-Dark Gimmmick for the HG Stargazer, they give us Hologram Stickers. While still good, but it's far from what they had promise.

I agree with your last point, but still no reason to be pessimistic. And none of us actually knew that Stargazer would have a glow in the dark gimmick (it came as quite a shock to a lot of people when it was revealed in hobby show pics). That Stargazer even came with such a thing was enough to make me spaz out, even though it was only hologram stickers, because before that I was expecting just a plain old model (There wasn't really anything much that you could've expected from Stargazer initially).

kct 2006-11-27 11:48

Hmmm...so my C1 got infected by the 'too much weight on the top' problem.

SNT1 2006-11-27 12:52

hm. I thought the weight was well-balanced. Well, try putting some weight inside lower legs/feet then.

Meehlimo 2006-11-27 15:44

U can do a trick by puting small bead weights in the the feet and legs to make it heavier for balence.

M_Flores 2006-11-27 18:32

I'd be surprised, but very pleased if the SP Options also included another beam shield, like the other SFs never had v_v;...

It was mentioned that the HG Stargazer have a Glow-In-The-Dark Gimmick when the promo pix first came out :-

But it was not mentioned that it will have those Rings which are first revealed at the Hobby Show along with the hologram stickers.
