It was a flash back episode and they show us a little more about Yuki/Kaname relationship and how it change when Zero arrive and the night class start.

Skipped chapter 10 and pretty much did 11 & 12 with a few differences.

Basically follows chapters 11 and 12 (skipping 10 unfortunately) as Westlo stated. If they continue two chapters per episode we should get chapters 13 and 14 next, which ends volume 3 and starts the "Shizuka Arc". Can't wait!

When you say it's a flashback episode, is it the flashback to Kaname bringing Yuuki to the headmaster and her first few days afterwards?

It's a bunch of flashbacks about Yuuki's past starting from the moment when she was found by Kaname and brought to the headmaster. It takes place over more than a few days, more like it spans several years of time showing Yuuki and Kaname's growing relationship through the years. Yuuki flashes back, as do Zero and Kaname, so we get their perspectives of the past as well.

Hmm, this ep was quite good imo. It was all on flashbacks but they revealed some pretty important facts (or supported what we believed even more from previous episodes).

Yuki's initial reaction towards a younger (and gentler) Kaname wasn't what I expected at first. She feared him like she feared all vampires at the time, but she begun to notice the difference in Kamane compared to the evil vampire that attacked her and came to the conclusion that Kaname isn't a bad vampire and isn't scary.

I feel sorry for the president that even at that age, Yuki was pretty much ignoring him :heh:

Meanwhile, she worships Kaname for being her savior. Okay, the scene with Yuki trying to change herself was hilariously cute XD

And thats how it begun. Actually, as the flashbacks continued, I begin to wonder if I even like Yuki now seen as her naive personality is getting to be a pain in the arse (just slightly) :rolleyes:.

Zero on the other hand welcomes Kaname by thrusting a knife into his arm the first time the meet :heh:

It doesn't even need to be said that he detest vampires.

I'm interested to see how this goes now as Kaname is showing more signs that he is only waiting for Yuki's blood to mature before sucking her. He says that "it is still too early" after fending off another vampire student who was thinking about sucking Yuki. All too suspicious in you ask me :rolleyes:

Yay! I was waiting for this episode, and I think it was nicely done. I loved how it covered all three of the protagonists' perspectives. I'm glad they included the Yuuki-dressing-herself part, because it is just plain hilarious and shows the side of Kaname rarely seen. I wonder if the anime is gong to go back to chapter 10, because the exclusion of a certain character could create some problems in the future.. though probably not. Wow, it really does seem like episode 8 will introduce the next major arc.. I'm so excited! The upcoming arc is craaazy and I like it that way! xD

After watching the episode, I was wondering if there's a big age gap between Yuuki and Kaname but then I decided that it's better if I don't know. :P Other than that it's a pretty good flashback ep which establishes why Yuuki likes Kaname as well as why Zero dislikes Kaname and vice versa.

Thinking about it I wouldn't be surprised if the first half of episode 8 is chapter 10 and the final half is chapter 13 which would end it the episode on a nice note.
