I've been following this manga. I cannot believe they're animating it.
Holy shit! When I read this news I was really happy. |
Why are there two threads on this?

YEEEEEEEEEEEEEAHHHHHHHHHH
This is one of my favorite currently serialized manga. I bet after the anime starts, there'll suddenly be interest in scanlating the manga. :p And NHK too, which is eeeeeexxxxcellent. It would have been my primary choice for an epic war story. I have the feeling this will be the best NHK epic anime since the Tweleve Kingdoms. The first post summary doesn't mention it, but the era of the story is founding of the Qin Empire, the first empire of China. Also, Xin doesn't have the family name of Li yet. Not even in the current storyline. (first episode hints he will have one though) |
It's a war epic anime? Now that's not ordinary. I want see more battle scenes and strategy than long conversations.
I'll be expecting a nice anime on this one. |
Japan really trying their hardest to give me stuff to watch all of a sudden. :D

Watching the cast with kids involved just made me doubtful if this will be worth to watch...
|
but the story starts when the young boy grew into a great general which I read in mangaupdates. The manga is being translated though it's only up to vol 2 only but it has over 24+ volumes to go.
|
And I read it weekly, currently reading material for vol.25~26
He's tall, older, muscle bound, and leading armies of thousands. Kiddy? Uh, hell no. This is WAR. BLOOD, IRON, AND DIRT. |
Wow, this looks like it was made for me. Can't wait.
|
This looks awfully promising to me. Not just the outstanding cast. But the director did Hikaru no Go and The Third, and the writer Spice & Wolf and Yosuga no Sora. I've just read some of the manga and agree that it's good. But the historical setting is the clincher for me, if they can do it reasonably well. Starts in June, according to Moonphase.
