HG's restriction on Macross merchendise only applies in the US. We can still them over the counter in brick and mortar shops here in Singapore.

I thought HG held the international licence for Macross? Well I still probably wouldn't be able to buy in Ireland, though I really should look for a UK vendor to mail me one

The airplanes are superb, i'll buy one of them in the future, this is fix. But yeah, really expensive stuff...

But i also like this 2 kit, but unfortunately those items must be pre-order... or i'm wrong?
I saw them an another site, and there just over 10 kits can order of those.
I don't know the e2046 is the same as my early mentioned ' over 10 kits stuff' site...

i dont think they are pre0orders since they are both from old macross series
but they are garage kits, which means u will have to put them together and paint them

Yeah, i know that. I have a friend, who make those kits pro level... ( i already have a HMX-13 figure, and this friend painted the cute robot girl... awww fantastic work and fantastic figure!)

I think i'll order in the near future an Ishtar kit, and we'll see the assembly and paint stuff.
And yes, i'll post the pictures, when she's complete.

Man I want one of those... Which kits have the best quality to price ratio, without needing painting, something along the lines of Gundam Master grade or High Grade?

dodgethis_sg 2008-04-23 08:24

Sorry to disappoint but many Macross kits out there are real models that require an adhesive of some sort and paint unlike Gundam kits which do not at all.

The Minmay doll is 50cm tall, it's more like 1/3 than 1/2.
I'm eagerly waiting for semptember, to put my hands on her.

I hear Bandai is putting out a model kit, so perhaps we'll get something like a gundam model i.e. easy to put together and high quality.

I found 2 ver of the Macross DYRL movie on yesaia

More expensive

http://us.yesasia.com/en/PrdDept.asp...6/#prodcontent

less expensive

http://us.yesasia.com/en/PrdDept.asp...id-1005078830/

Is the more expensive ver the Limited Ed and if it isn't does anyone know of a online place i can order the LE Macross DYRL movie set?

Onizuka-GTO 2008-05-02 03:22

Has there been any announcement about a VAJRA model?

after seeing it on the monitor in episode 05, i suddenly have the urge to know if they have one coming.

:)

dodgethis_sg 2008-05-02 04:07

Bandai has been silent about details regarding their upcoming kits for Frontier other than they are doing the VF-25 in 1/60 and 1/72, much less anything about a Varja.

Please let it be a proper model that requires cement and paint and comes molded in proper light grey styrene that reacts well to plastic cement like Hasegawa plastic. AND PLEASE LET ME HAVE A 1/48 KIT. 1/32 WOULD BE EVEN BETTER.

CrowKenobi 2008-05-06 22:38

For those wanting those Bandai Valkyries posted earlier in this thread, Anime News Network has posted the answer you've been waiting for!

In a nutshell: Toynami is going to import those toys to the US!!

The defunct Takatoku company developed the first transformable toys for Studio Nue's Super Dimension Fortress Macross space war series (1982-1983). Takatoku's 1/55-scale VF-1 Valkyrie fighter toy were eventually remolded and recolored as the Jetfire toy for The Transformers line.

Toynami will start its Valkyrie toy release with the VF-1S (pictured above) and VF-1J (pictured below) variants this summer, and continue with the VF-1A variant with detachable Super packs this fall. These first releases will be sold under The Super Dimension Fortress Macross: Do You Remember Love? name. Macross: Do You Remember Love? was the 1984 theatrical film adaptation of the first Macross series.

Toynami plans to release more toys from the first Macross series under the Robotech brand in 2009. The North American distributor Harmony Gold USA partially released the first Macross series on home video in 1984, before rewriting and editing the series with two other series to compile the Robotech project in 1985.

Toynami was founded in 2000 after Harmony Gold USA asked for compensation on the toy imports for the animated Macross Plus sequel by Toynami's predecessor, Toycom. The issue grew into a larger dispute with two lawsuits and led to the recent impasse in Macross releases outside Japan. Before importing the upcoming Valkyrie toy line, Toynami produced its own line of 1/55-scale toys as well as lower-priced 1/100-scale toys. Both of these in-house Toynami designs had less die-cast metal than the Takatoku toys.

Yamato Toys, the former Japanese partner of Toycom, produced a recent 1/48-scale line of VF-1 Valkyrie toys. This June, it will start a 1/60-scale line (pictured at right) that matches the scale of the toys from the other Macross projects in Japan. Both Yamato toy lines use less die-cast metal than Takatoku's toys of the 1980s, but are more faithful to the original mechanical designs.

Bandai is reissuing the Macross toys in Japan to coincide with the 25th anniversary of the first Macross series and the 2008 launch of the Macross Frontier

Hopefully this will help clear up some of the Macross legal quandaries in R1 land and open the door to Macross DVD licenses.

But that Vajra doesn't seem to be very posable, with its only semi-humanoid articulation and overly busy organic design.

Now, if they would come up with a nice Quaedlunn-Rea kit...

FRS 2008-05-15 12:56

I wouldnt mind a new Koening Monster kit (but it's going to be so expensive :heh:)

Moci 2008-05-21 14:32

Hmm i'll buy a VF-25, in the future... really nice plan, but the Koening Monster also a very 'attractive' stuff. :D

But i really want a Klan Klein figure in her true self, not the loli version.

Check this, really nice T-shirt!! AWESOME T-SHIRT!

Expendable GM Pilot 2008-06-03 14:14

I'm not big on collecting toys but I really wanted a die-cast valkyrie and I found this pic online:
http://www.ehobbyland.com/Macross-Ac...t-VF-1JMax.jpg

Is this rare or something because $40+ seems a bit much for such a little thing. I can't find it for any cheaper.

.Mero 2008-06-05 02:42

About those new "Fully tranformables"

Anyone know if they are transformable as in, no need to detach the legs and then attach em to the cockpit like some of the older toys from yamato, i got the YF-11 and the VF-1 Max and at least the VF-1 needs a replacement of the legs, detach em complete and stick em into the cockpit

I saw the YF-19 didnt have this anymore.... shame i dont have the cash for it right now :(

Dynastya 2008-06-10 10:13

Anyone know where to find more news about Bandai's plans for the fully transformable VF-25 Messiah? I wanna get a few, but hopefully after a few people have gotten them first and posted reviews on them. So that bandai will read the reviews and correct any flaws.

Hmm speaking of which, I wonder if Yamato as fixed any flaws which were in the previous releases of the 1/60 YF-19 model for their 25th Anniversary YF-19 model.
