New Robocop...

http://l2.yimg.com/bt/api/res/1.2/YF...jpg_163018.jpg

I think the new suit alone definitely falls into the "what is this, I don't even" territory.

Kayu 2012-09-17 18:19

Is that the new robocop suit? Omg this movie is gonna fail

Xellos-_^ 2012-09-17 18:19

the new suit looks like the uniform for the faceless soldiers in FF8.

Sumeragi 2012-09-17 18:36

Why do people keep making such madness?!?!?!

willx 2012-09-17 18:38

Maybe it's so they can make vast improvements to the plot? /sarcasm

DonQuigleone 2012-09-17 18:41

I prefered the old suit.

Also, Hollywood has officially run out of all creativity. They've lowered themselves to remaking old 80s B movie series.

MakubeX2 2012-09-17 18:50

The new suit looks like a mass production model of the original. I understand they are gunning for a sleeker version, but something got lost along the way.

The original may have the look and feel of a B-Grade. But at it's heart was a tale of labour exploritation and Corporate Greed, which is still relevant today. The remake will work provided they know what drives the original and update it to the modern day context.

i say it's... refreshing

and Jose Padila will make sure of it!

Interview with Coming Soon, new RoboCop director Jose Padilha speaks to what ground his take on the American action classic will cover. Though many find the idea of remaking RoboCop borderline sacrilege, in the interview, he shares that he is tackling an aspect that many fans might not have a problem with. At least, I don’t.

Rather than follow Murphy as RoboCop after the whole OCP debacle, or run this installment off in some parallel universe, Padilha has said that the film will focus on a very particular area that the first film glossed over:

In the first RoboCop when Alex Murphy is shot, gunned down, then you see some hospitals and stuff and then you cut to him as RoboCop. My movie is between those two cuts. How do you make RoboCop? How do you slowly bring a guy to be a robot? How do you actually take humanity out of someone and how do you program a brain, so to speak, and how does that affect an individual?”

That. It's like they just changed the mask to a helmet. Need more silver.

MakubeX2 2012-09-17 19:47

I don't see much Bats in there. What I saw was :-

Endless Soul 2012-09-17 20:15

There is nothing B-rated about ED-209.

unless it gets near stairs

Endless "10 seconds to comply" Soul

Kyero Fox 2012-09-17 20:19

I like the helm... thats it... the rest looks like a power suit, not a actual robot body.

Google Robocop Reboot

What will probably happen is that this new Robocop will probably be CG augmented to show enhancements and additional affects. But the old Robocop does and did not need such augmentations. Part of this goes into my like of practical special effects vs the over use of CGI found in today's movies (as mentioned in the Captain America Thread).

Ithekro 2012-09-17 20:24

Will if the robot body replaces most of his regular body, that it wouldn't need to be as bulky as it was originally...less fleshy parts to go over.

I'm with you on practical effects. Even if some older effects look a bit dated they still look more "real" than the cgi effects seen today, where I know I'm looking at something not real/computerized.

I know they remake it so the suit would fall into the design of "future"
But somehow i cannot accept its new design. I feel that it has no originality. It just like another mass produced robot soldier...

Master_Yoma 2012-09-17 22:25

So the 3rd movie of Robocop isnt going to be the crappiest one of them and the new suit suck bad it needs to be shinny
