I sure hope they aren't trying to fit the entire arc in a single cour. It already seems like they are going to skip some parts.

its understandable why they are doing this they don't want the goddess arc to end half way but also they don't think they'll get a fourth season

It's probably a good thing given what they did to the first two seasons. Give them room to wiggle and they'll screw up the pacing/tone.

Well after watching the episode they had to trim a few things here and there but the important stuff is intact. It should be all right.

First two seasons were almost perfect. To the point that Chihiro's arc was even better than in manga or at least as good as.

Right now I'd give an ok to the goddesses arc adaptation. It is rushed, but at least doesn't give this omgwtf feeling

like chihiro dumping coffee on keima's head twice in the manga instead of once

This episode still suffers from pacing issues since they covered 9 chapters into one episode, but overall they managed to maintain good coherency and consistency with the plot. The decision to cut out and replace Fiore who stabbed Kanon was probably another move to save time.

The frantic pace really hurts some of the character development that Keima goes through as he goes around hunting down the remaining goddesses.

I wouldn't even necessarily say that the pacing is all that rushed. I've always felt that this earlier portion of the goddesses arc went by rather quickly for a manga. It doesn't blow through like a freight train but it certainly isn't a glacier. The pace was a little fast, but it felt fine to me.

Actually, I was a bit surprised. I knew they would push through a lot of content in the second episode because they would be able to with ease due to the nature of these chapters, but they got a lot further than I expected. My assumption right now is that they are taking these chapters that were already a bit faster in pace and pushing them out as fast as they can so that they can use that time on the more vital segments. Even though they pushed through a lot of material, the interactions with the targets were completely fine.

I'm sad that Haqua got the short end of the stick here though. It's pretty clear that they're trying to focus on the goddesses, and so they left all of Haqua's internal monologues out to dry. She has a lot of things to say about Keima here. Oh well...

Still, I'm pleased with the adaptation. I think they're doing the best they feel they can and it's certainly working.
