Have you checked your cotton swabs? I find that a few things affect how well they clean

1. How dirty they are, if too dirty with previous paint its not really helping other than thinning the paint outside of the lines (and if they are REALLY dirty from past paint you are sucking up just as much as you are squeezing out

2. How much thinner/cleaning solution you use. Perhaps too much or too little

3. Quality. I find the looser swabs dont work as well, I like the more compact (and slightly more expensive) swabs. These ones tip shape are more defined (tighter) and are usually a bit more conical in some cases

4. How hard/soft you are wiping

Or as I mentioned before it just might be because you are using lighter fluid (though I have only seen positive results from it myself and from others feedback)

Or perhaps it could even be the brand of paint you are using or a somewhat defective bottle?

On another topic: I died a little inside

@bio9205: Is the surface, you're working on matt or gloss?

In regards to the Strike Freedom and Sazabi. I don't see a problem. You get the iconic suit to go with the Nu ver ka. You also get an interesting RG. I see a perfectly good win win.

Edit: Wow November/December release dates? That's a fast turn around. I guess they've been doing the Sazabi, in the dark for a while.(Not a surprise of course)

I don't have a Sazabi yet, so... yay?

Also, it once again took HLJ a week to ship my order. Did I order during some Japanese holiday again or what? >__<

I doubt it's the paint. Interesting point about the cotton swabs there, I'll try looking out for the more compact ones.

Anyway, on the Unicorn Phenix, it seems that they've done the HG molds for the Armed Armour DE. Why can't Bandai release the Banshee Norn Destroy mode already!

It's a clean surface. I didn't apply topcoat.

That doesn't answer what I asked.

Is the surface gloss painted or matt painted? Clean doesn't mean anything lol. If the surface is matt, it will be extremely hard to remove the panel wash. Also you can panel wash with acrylic. Just make sure you gloss clear coat before.

I meant I didn't apply a gloss or matt surface! I started panel washing right OOB.

Let me try this again... Seems my first post is lost in limbo...(I just posted and it's gone..)

Sorry, I misread your first post. Ok, how long did you wait before trying to dab up the access? You're using enamel thinner? It sounds like they are "too" wet maybe.(too much thinner on the cotton buds) Did you wash the kit in soap before you applied the wash? I just thought about the mold release. It could cause issues with bonding.

From Gundam Unicorn thread (courtesy of gordol):
Quote:

AMX-107R Re-Bawoo (or whatever). Upgraded machine equipped with psycho-frame. Intended to be Frontal's personal machine before he got the Sinanju, subsequently piloted by someone else. Thanks to the psycho-frame, it appears the separation function has now been perfected.

DOME-G presentation is a comparison test of the Banshee and Phenex, on December 3, U.C. 0095. The Phenex was constructed in secret. (Secret from whom? at first glance I think it says from the Vist Foundation, but the writeup is a little unclear to me.) Sounds like, after the Banshee and Phenex repulse the Re-Bawoo, the Phenex pilot is killed by some kind of resonance effect and the unmanned Phenex runs wild, destroying a Federation ship.

At this point, the Banshee bears "GR" markings (i.e. "General Revil"), while the Phenex is based aboard a white Irish-class ship (initially mistaken for the Argama). Both machines are piloted by Cyber-Newtypes.

Dang it... I have ordered like 2 kits this year and both times I did it on a holiday XD

That's something I don't like about HLJ though. They have a ton of international customers but they don't warn you about their holidays. How am I supposed to know that they won't ship anything for a whole week?

I had to ask them myself to get that info -.- They should put something like that on their Homepage

Lol nobody's wallet is.....Bandai seems to want to kill our wallets and bank accounts this year...probably in revenge for AGE sales or something.....

I think this may be a good excuse to get me a kit for spray paint practice lol

I PRAY that they do, the mold already exists, though I wonder if the build would provide easy customization/change

duotiga 2013-08-04 07:00

@Skye629 , ngeekhiong got the full review of the stand, you can check it out

Providenceangle 2013-08-04 10:26

Even older kits are making my wallet cry. The last 3 years have been a serious crunch. Bandai has released a lot of kits. Even ones from a not so successful anime.(What do they expect...)

Just as a personal opinion, based on what I've heard of origin... They should have waited on the 3.0, lined it up with a release of episode one. Along with a 3.0 Zaku. Just my opinion though.

Bonta Kun 2013-08-04 10:51

So question, what is everyone's guess on the price range of the Sazabi?

Close to the THE-O?

or maybe just a little less?

At least 9000 yen. Who knows though.

If anyone is curious as to why the gold plastic(and most special colour plastics), look so bad. It's because they are cheap. Instead of using a gold plastic in the mold. They add a %(percentage) of the colour. You can save money by putting 4% black pellets into white or clear. It will cause that swirling though. Unless the mix is very well done, and the molding machines are very well calibrated. Even then you can and will get this ugly swirling. Where I used to work, we would scrap this... Can't believe Bandai just sell it, like this...
