What about this?

http://www.gundamall.com/shop/image_...3001000059.jpg

I'm thinking it could work....

Edit: it seems like it is the 1/100 NG that has been fixed around but I think that with some tweaks and of course an inner frame, it would work out nicely

That looks interesting but something like that would work.

It wouldn't be too hard. The MG F91's frame is scrawny compared to others. The Exia wouldn't be any harder, I just can't imagine it being full of extra gimmicks like hydraulics and things like that.

I personally hope that it will be a version ka. I find exia itself to be lacking gimmicks and details.

Yeah, it could of been so much better but we also have things like the avalanche Exia.

LightningZERO 2009-03-02 22:50

I hope no Exia Ver. Ka. Exia is already cool without needing a make over, and the Ver Ka. box art is not as badass as the normal ones :D

vektar 2009-03-02 23:36

yeah so far i havent really liked any of the ver. ka MG's, i would have liked to of seen a normal wing or wing zero over the ver. Ka.

What about the 78-2? I have the Ver. Ka of it, and in my opinion, it's leaps and bounds above the original version. I haven't kept track of the OYW, 1.5, and 2.0 versions, so I don't know about them, but I also had the standard MG Gundam, and it was lackluster, to say the least.

And I agree that a Wing MG would be awesome. Maybe even a TV version of the Zero... I don't know about you, but I'm really getting tired of the EW Gundams..

May I ask what exactly is a version ka of a kit ? I've seen it in Sinanju and Unicorn, and they are both really damn good (well, Sinanju is great, Unicorn is very good but lacking in the articulation department)

rebel one 2009-03-03 00:21

A kit redesigned by Katoki Hajime.

LoweGear 2009-03-03 00:23

A Ver. Ka (Version Katoki) Master Grade kit is a model kit design personally supervised in construction and design by Hajime Katoki. They're typically more mechanically extensive than your average Master Grade, though asides from the boxart and manual design there really isn't much of a difference from normal Master Grades.

Note that there is a difference between a simple Ver. Ka redesign and a dedicated Ver. Ka model kit, since the earliest Master Grades are based off Katoki's versions of the designs (ex. why the MG Zeta looks more "mechanical" than the more anime-based Ver. 2.0), and it was only recently that they switched to having Bee-CRAFT redesign mecha to Master Grade standard.

I love your avatar btw.

Also above^. You have to admit Wing Gundam ver kai looks amazing.

LightningZERO 2009-03-03 00:38

Now I remember that 00 Region Exia is redesigned by Katoki Hajime too.

Although I still don't know what's so great about Ver. Ka (except the redesigned Wing Gundam), other than more mechanical details and tons of decals

Thanks goes to mikoo.

Most of Katoki's work is really edgey and sharp with huge barrels. The decals are a real pain though. He ought to build his own kits and experience it himself.

Yeah, I like the original Exia better then the one in the pic.

Not just that: the entire Gundam Fix Figuration line, and Cosmic Region are also Katoki designs.

Oh I see...well, he did an amazing job with some of his own designs, so I guess I can't help to at least be curious about his re-designs as well...did he ever change a famous model to the point that it's obviously better/worse? I still think that Unicorn Gundam should get a re-design in the future (I LOVE his looks, but as I said, it can be improved in certain areas).

Btw, if I recall correctly, the main reason to do a 2.0 version of the MG Zeta Gundam was to improve the transformation a bit and of course, making it look more like the original one, but reading that it's a little less mechanic-looking than the oldtype (lol) makes me kinda sad since I do like detailed kits.

Tormenk 2009-03-03 01:49

I'm not sure about the other ver. Ka kits but the Unicorn and Sinaju's internal frame do differentiate them from the rest of the MGs somewhat. The Unicorn is a unique case where the design demanded it whereas the Sinaju definitely is in the tops for articulation, courtesy of the internal frame.

Hi-Nu had the sliding pelvic joints mechanic before Sinaju, and the zaku Ver 2.0 frame is certainly great as well but I don't think neither could replicate some of the poses capable by the Sinaju. (Natural cross-armed pose and standing on one leg anyone?)
