It should help you along your way to sanding and painting kits.

Don't suppose anyone has a direct download link to this file? Bitorrent is not being my friend at the moment.

Mr Chow 2007-04-20 20:16

Join the club, it doesn't work for me either!!

hobbes_fan 2007-04-21 02:51

Had anyone got any hints on how to strip primer. I'm not happy with the way one model turned out, the primer has this funky grainy texture. Managed to strip the paint using oven cleaner, but the primer is still there

GameraBaenre 2007-04-21 12:43

Use some high grit sand paper, about 3000, dip it into some water and lightly sand the surface. This will smooth out everything.

The tracking goes down every now and again. I've been seeding this, and I have a few other friends that have been seeding this and will continue to seed this until I come up with the newer version. But right now I can see about 7 people connected and downloading. Let me know if you still cannot download it. I'm using bittorrent because this is a 1.6gb file. It'll take too much bandwidth and storage space to have a single dedicated server to hold the thing.

Yeah, didn't realize it was so large. Don't suppose it's possible to break it up into separate files and upload it? Probably too much trouble. I'll try bittorrent again, maybe it'll work this time. :) At least I hope so, I have a new kit on the way and I'd love some help with it.

GameraBaenre 2007-04-21 21:01

The first version I had was about 100mbs this is the second version. I plan to make even more improvements and eventually it'll probably fill a dvd sized disk.

duotiga 2007-04-22 05:15

HGUC Blue Destiny Unit 1 - July, 1,575 yen
MG Gundam One Year War 0079 ver. - TV color version, July, 3,150 yen (this is NOT MG 100, btw)

i have bought a PG Strike
is there any need to paint it to make it look good ?

hobbes_fan 2007-04-22 08:42

It looks kind of flat and undetailed without it. Paint gives it "depth" and detail as weird as that sounds. For a comparison see this link, a Little bit of effort goes a long way.

Look at the detail here
http://www.dannychoo.com/gallery_the...r+Busy+People/

vs
the detail of this

http://images.google.com.au/imgres?i...3D6ow%26sa%3DN

now they are different models but the truth of the matter is a PG is something that needs to be detailed IMO, it's not cheap like MG kits. It s bgger and has a whole lot of details that need to brought out with some effort

I always think it's a waste if you get a PG and don't paint it. You already spent so much money on it already..Might as well make it as nice as possible right. :heh:

Alpha 54 2007-04-22 15:21

Does anyone know if the guy on Gunplablog painted the Hi Nu Gundam he reviewed?

Hmmm, what's in it? 1.6gb is VERY big...and i don't have much downloads to spare...

Myname 2007-04-22 23:18

Has anyone ordered from http://www.hobbywave.com/

Are they reliable?

Treize Khushrenada 2007-04-22 23:38

Yes, no problems in two separate orders.

You should try using http://www.rainbowten.co.jp/english/index.html instead. They're reliable (except that shipping takes ~21 days if you choose EMS) and it's around $10-20 cheaper than a lot of other stores (not counting http://www.hlj.com).

Treize Khushrenada 2007-04-23 03:22

My first hobbywave experience.

$10 flat shipping and 5 day shipping - on a 4 model, 4 action base order. I don't know how you can beat that.

Why does the backpack reminds me of the Saint Cloth Chest from Saint Seiya......

And of course now we have seen a preview of the BD 3 too.

Sorry this is OT. Does anyone have any ideas what I can do if a particular model kit I'm interested is discontinued (Not a Gundam). I've checked HLJ and they sold out of their stock and is now discontinued or am I SOL, I have very little faith in HK sellers on evilBay.

This is the sucker I want most but the mecha from this series is hard to find as well

3 power point presentations teaching basic building techniques for gundams; advanced techniques such as different forms of weathering, scratch building, etc; and resin figure building. Embedded in the presentations are videos demonstrating some of the techniques.

Akyra 2007-04-23 20:47

@GameraBaenre

Wooo, that's interesting...thanks for the upload then!

GameraBaenre 2007-04-23 23:11

There is also a word document that describes the techniques. Just trying to help people build better :) And if you have any questions after you take a look at it, feel free to ask me, and I will try to clarify anything.

duotiga 2007-04-24 09:47

LightningZERO 2007-04-24 10:07

LOL. They look great. I might get it!

jbui 2007-04-24 19:46

Anyone have the link where you can ask BANDAI for a replacement part ??

JagdPanther 2007-04-24 22:30

If I were at home right now I'd take pictures of my three models and post them here...

I have three High Grade 08th MS team models (Not Perfect or anything! No. LOL I'm not that good...).

I have:

RGM-79 [G] GM Sniper 1/100
RGM-79 [G] GM
RX-79 [G] Ez-8 Gundam Ez8

I painted them to NATO-European colors and assigned them to the 14th Cavalry Regiment, the 90th Infantry Division, and the 27th Infantry Division, respectively. :) I'm actually quite proud of them.

Hoo-ah!

Just email them at:

bandaiactionkit@bandai.co.jp

1. We accept free replacement for any defection or missing parts if it occurred
in our production line or during the transportation. We need to see a picture
of broken parts or a sprew that has missing parts in the unwrapped plastic bags
when you ask for a replacement.

2. We also accept a replacement for broken parts or missing parts which
occurred under customer's responsibility. This replacement will be done free of
charge but it will be only one time deal. Limited within 4 pieces of parts.

:D

What's the biggest gundam ever made, is it the 1/60? I remember there was a Macross model made in 1/32 but is there a gundam equivalent?

Tak 2007-04-25 08:18

The biggest Gundam ever? That would be the human-sized gundams made a while back.
