I just got a chance to watch this and of course the scene with Shinobu was amazing. It's not often you get almost half an episode with two people in the bath naked, especially with one of them male and one of them a loli. And with lots of skin-on-skin sound effects. And for all that, it was a very serious scene. The most psychologically striking scene of the show so far, along with the early Sejougahara interrogates Araragi scene. What a strong, strange universe Nisioisin inhabits.

But that having been said, I was not really satisfied with Sakamoto Maaya's voice here. Too bland and professional. Rather boring, for me, when I would have preferred something more exciting. But this show is Shinbou using a cast of pros, rather than a cast of interesting voices, per se.

In any case, I would have preferred to hear Hirano Aya try the role. Who else? Not sure. Maybe Ao-chan. Maybe Orikasa Fumiko. Maybe Hirohashi Ryou. And maybe I will come to love Maaya in the role as I hear her do more versions of the character. We shall see.

You know she is supposed to act out a jaded and cynical half millenium year old beast, trapped in the shadow of a suicidal youth... didn't she come out exactly that way :uhoh:

Nah... that probably would have been a rehash of her Ekaterina/Katya@SnQwaser? Wouldn't really fit Kisshot/Shinobu IMHO :rolleyes:

Wow so Shinobu actually has a personality? What the hell.
