cuz aoi hana sucks |

Aoi Hana is a drama all the way. Sasameki Koto is a comedy with some drama thrown in. |
You had me at "comedy".
|
The comedy truly is gold in this series, and the quality drama balances the two our quite nicely.

Brilliant news. :D
All the great shows this season are going to be on CR. |
Meh. Being on CR means the rest of us who's IP's aren't accepted for subscription aren't going to be able to watch.
|
What? It has been licensed? Man I was too late to join you guys.
From the screenshots, it seems it doesn't take place in an all-girl school as few guys can be seen in the background. |

Episode one was pretty good, even if not at the level of Aoi Hana, for me. Charadesign and backgrounds look great. And the story is developing.
But all I could see -- or I mean hear -- was Takagaki Ayahi's voice as Sumi. That immediacy and suppressed emotion just blew every other voice out of the water. Except for one: the library senpai -- who turned out to have been played by my other current shinjin favorite, Hayami Saori. I didn't realize Hayamin would be here. So she and Ayahi are together in two shows this season: this show and Sora no Otoshimono, just switching who is the star and who is the supporting character. Not that the other voices weren't good. Nice work from Takamoto Megumi and Katou Emiri. But Ayahi was amazing. Maybe even a bit too quietly intense. |
I wish CR would sort out when they're gonna stream this.

More on topic, it seems like after having seen some or all of Aoi Hana they've decided to make this a little more "dramatic" than the manga source. It will be interesting to see if that continues past this episode. Not that there isn't drama and romance in this series, but I hope they don't forget the comedy that helped make this a nice alternate. |
