Speculation is all in good fun, but do tone down the...certainty...of your tone, will you?

You know, for all the points that Arturro is trying to make, I still have to laugh. Two reasons:

one, Arturro's trying to be way too serious about the plot. We all hate Akune, but still, things are pretty light-hearted at the moment, so things could go in any direction. And two, never try to really predict where manga like this will go, no matter how predictable things get at points. You'll only have your expectations betrayed.

So Arturro, just chill out and let the story flow. I don't care how many books and whatnot you've read, each story is unique, and can never really be predicted. That, and you're really painting too dark a picture for this kind of story, if you ask me (heck, I think we all are painting possibilities that are too dark for this kind of stoyr... or at least making them come off as too dark)

Now that i think of it Zenkichi has already beaten Akune.

Akune calls out Zenkichi for following Medaka around like a lap dog, and calls him a worm.

Ironically Akune is doing what he accused Zenkichi of doing, have we ever seen Zenkichi on his knees? Does Xenkichi try to copy Medaka's style of dress? Has she ever "pet" Zenkichi? Akune copies the way she dresses and practically tries to act like her. I don't think this blind devotion is something she actually likes. We'll see what happens this week but for now Akune's "victory" looks like a loss.

Just read chap. 7...the Akune overflow wasn't as bad as I thought. Even with his few lines Zenkichi is still representing his awesomeness. Though I have come to a conclusion...

They need to eventually make an anime out of this. They really, really do.

The way Zenkichi gets along with Akune is actually quite good, usually its all glaring and what not but Zenkichi is rather chilled about him being around....somewhat:heh:
Altho he would probably prefer he wasn't around I think he can live with it easily enough. Compared to usual rivalries this one is more pleasant.

Well Shiranui is always a good laugh as usual, damn she's got some appetite:p

also Medaka in the summer uniform = win!

Kaori Nazuka - Medaka
Zenkichi - Kosuke Toriumi
Akune - Junichi Suwabe

Kosuke Toriumi would be a great Zenkichi, actually. So would Tomokazu Seki (for even more GAR).

But, uh, Archer as Akune...? I really don't think that fits at all. :heh:

I'd suggest Daisuke Ono, but this series is already enough like Haruhi.

Kaori Nazuka... I've only seen her as Tsubaki and Nunnally... have you got a better example of a character more like Medaka?

I wasn't thinking of Archer when i picked Suwabe, i was thinking of the arrogant and narcissistic Atobe Keigo from the prince of tennis who is also voiced by Suwabe.

As for Nazuka..i was thinking of her role as Yui in the TO Love Ru anime.

Well, I know where GAR comes from, and it makes sense... as for badass, well, that's what happens with slang: a word that makes no sense at all in normal light takes on a whole different meaning when it comes to slang

If this is popular I have no doubts there will be an anime for Medaka Box, Nishio Ishin is hot stuff right now for a good reason. Summer 2009 has his Bakemonogatari being animated by SHAFT, Katanagatari is getting 12 OVAs released in 2010 by WHITE FOX. If it's popular in SJ than I don't see why not.. heck even Hatsukoi Limited which was cut from SJ got an anime lol...

I like Nazuka.. but I don't really think she has the tone for Medaka... I don't think she could do "God" Medaka well enough...
