Was wondering when this would get put up, can't wait for the sub! I'm dying from anticipation.

Senshigeia 2011-10-28 17:31

So, like I said in other thread, I couldn't wait and saw the raw episode, although I don't really undrestand japanese. But, fortunatly it seems I understood a part of what they were saying, wich makes me quite happy: I'm finally able to understand a little bit of japanese, after 10 years, or so, of anime fandom... :)

Has for the episode itself:

Spoiler for Episode 4:

Anyway, great episode. Now I have to rewatch it with english subs...

Did the episode just air? I thought it was supposed to air this morning, seeing how subs for episode 2 were up on friday at around 9pm. Regardless, I'm going to lurk for commies release, hopefully tonight.

Wow, what an episode.
But I got a question to those who actually read the novel this episode is based on.
Spoiler for question:

I just want to know if J.C.Staff skipped some stuff here, of if it was like that in the novel, too.

By the way, the episode was really nice, and heart tearingly well done, I'm just curious whether J.C.Staff had to put out their censor or if it was like that in the novel, too.

Game8910 2011-10-28 19:55

It was like that in the novels pretty much. There wasnt any in depth description of how Yuji beat her. All we see is that she carried a beaten down Shana to where Yoshida was.

As for the episode, I waited for 4 years to see this event animated, and you know what....it was worth it. I had really high expectations for this scene and was praying to god JC Staff would not ruin it and they pulled through perfectly...what an awesome episode 10/10

Awesome, good to know, and thank you very much!
I will now proceed to rate the episode just like you! :D

charizardpal 2011-10-28 20:46

Well I would have liked to have seen the fight animated...that's why I looked forward to this animation. I'd like to see more character development for Shana now that she's
Spoiler for captured:
....I want a lot more than her just saying "Yuuji" and looking hurt.

elleinad00 2011-10-28 21:05

Well said, Game8910. Thanks, J.C. Staff for being faithful in adapting the novel material and following Yashichiro Takahashi's original intention. It is just what we fans want to see. Keep up the good work, J.C. Staff. :D

Anime viewers who have not been exposed to novel content are definitely in a complete shock in seeing this episode, the very same shock we, who read the novel spoilers, suffered from quite a long time ago.

Spoiler for Small Remark & Question About Episode Content:

RJ TAYLER 2011-10-29 00:54

I never give ten out of ten ever, this episode almost made me break that rule. It had everything that a series set-up could ask for and whets ones appetite for the series to come. A 'would watch again and again' for sure.

serenade_beta 2011-10-29 02:29

The entire drama over Silver and Marjory worked at first, but it kind of faded into an old lady screaming her lungs out and an aheh face.
And Silver's identity wasn't impressive.

As for the rest...
Yuuji's hair and voice and speech pattern takes the cake as usual.

Well, an improvement from the previous episode, at least.

Ec1ge 2011-10-29 14:11

A beautiful 10/10.
Even though I watched it RAW, I understood a majority of the things that happened since I read about what happened.

EDIT:
Spoiler for Margery:

Senshigeia 2011-10-29 15:33

alvinkhorfire: Got it.

Spoiler for Reply to alvinkhorfire:

RJ TAYLER: Surely I will watch it over and over 'till next Friday!

Great episode been waiting for this one since I read about it and it did not disappoint at all. This is one of the few episodes I have to give J.C.Staff one and rate it high. Also compare Yuji at the end of season 1 to Yuji at the end of season 2 then compare them all to him now see if you notice any changes.

ars89 2011-10-29 20:00

Wow great. So the silver was just a manifestation of Margery's emotions? So in the end she was just chasing herself. Hopefully she can regain herself.

So Yuji went on a search for power and somehow found the Snake. So since the Snake was in the abyss does that mean Sakai went there to retrieve him. Though i doubt he had any knowledge of who he was. Interesting how he decided to get stronger so he could protect everyone, but then furthered that thought by wanting to change the whole world.

Like how he finally turned down Yoshida. She was my least favorite. Wonder how Shana will escape or if that's even possible.

Flawfinder 2011-10-29 20:18

Good episode, was looking forward to it ever since I saw the novel spoilers, but Margery's scream sure lasted a long time. Just how long can you do that? It made me laugh, which I don't think is a good thing.

Someone took Yuji's body/Yuji allows him to take it for whatever reason. The specific motive for Yuji's betrayal/letting someone take his body is not revealed yet, so it would be a spoiler to tell you. But it is hinted upon that he has good intentions. ie become capable to changing the world for the better.

Edit: tl;dr Yuji want to change stuff by whatever means necessary, even if means making others think he is evil.
