Hello,

I just wanted to say that the translation for the PC game "Tomoyo After ~It's a wonderful life" is nearly in its completion. The only thing left to do is to fix a few grammar and typos here and there. The installer also needs to be set up which should only take a few days. Expect it soon.

Is it a spin-off game from Clannad?

Tomoyo looks similarly...

Kinda.

Basically, Tomoyo After serves as a sequel for CLANNAD, in a "What if" Tomoya hooks with Tomoyo.
Obviously, it isn't exactly the canon story follow up to CLANNAD, but it is canon by itself if Tomoya ends up with Tomoyo.


I'm fairly surprised there was a translation patch in the process, and even more as it is nearly done O_o.

Is it understandable without playing CLANNAD?

It is somewhat stand alone.
However, you will have difficulties to relate with both Tomoy* hardship and backstory without CLANNAD.

Well, as far as Im concerned, not really, or well, let me put it this way.

Id imagine it would be like playing half life 2, without ever hearding about half life 1, and because of that, half life 2 wouldnt make any sence when you play it. (Or well, like hl2 - ep.1 and hl2 - ep. 2, skip the first part and the second part doesnt make any sense since you dont know what happened before. Same with Lord Of The Rings, skip first two book`s and the third one doesnt make any sense.)

Why would you play a sequel without playing her arc atleast?

Yes, it does.

Most people just say Key made this game to appease the fans of CLANNAD because the original CLANNAD didn't have any H-scenes >_>
