157 is out~
Spoiler for 157:

Von Himmel 2009-10-27 08:26

I agree. For me, it's been a while since I saw such an awesome pics like that last page. It reminds me of how awesome this manga really is for me >.<

REEPER 2009-10-27 08:29

This manga started out well for me, but for the last 30 or so chapters has placed me into a manga induced coma. The story content and its pacing just seems out, like an irregular beat.

Kafriel 2009-10-27 10:29

I think it's pretty good, there's action, comedy, plot advancement and drama, all in one. I feel that if it was any slower (less random, if you want), you'd get the feeling it's dragging a lot. This is what most weekly manga do, and while some manage to stay interesting, others just plummet to the bottom of the manga ocean.

I don't know, your claim that the "villain has brains" is countered by the fact that he made the common villain mistake of "leaving his victims for dead" instead of making sure the job was done...

Wrath88 2009-10-28 01:22

If they're smart, they'll find some way to set up bombs to destroy the crystals before gathering to take out Zero.

Kafriel 2009-10-28 02:33

Not just any bombs, magical bombs! They're mages after all :)

Naww, if he actually did kill them, Wendy would have to get one step closer to Orihime, plus being revived by everyone's emotions is more...emotional? than having Wendy break a sweat.
But yeah, if you ever make a villain, make sure he kills his victims thoroughly, afaik only Sylar does that :(

Same thing happened with Angel somehow leaving Jura and Ichiya alive. It's bad writing, but there you have it: Nobody dies in Fairy Tail.

The staff died :(
Oh, Gerard was also dead for a good few arcs, and his death flag is still there for now...not sure if Jose survived Makarov's attack either (been too long...) and Simon died 100% in the tower arc.

Nobody does in shonen manga period. They just feel like taking a really long nap.
Barring anyone with Sarutobi in their name. :P

Kafriel 2009-10-28 05:03

Actually plenty of shounen got deaths involved, from Blue Gender and Blood+ to SCRYED and Black Cat...but apparently bleach has had a great impact on this particular matter, so it's like a common pov living up all by itself. Remember that RAVE also had its share of deaths, so the author doesn't have qualms about killing his characters, good or bad (If I had to take a wild guess into the future, I'd probably see Luxus, Hibiki or Gazille dying).

xHawkie 2009-10-28 07:20

Um... can someone tell me when did we get to see the scar on Natsu's neck? I think i missed that one...:(

Wrath88 2009-10-28 08:28

I think Zero never made sure those 3 were really dead because he's more interested in pure obliteration by Nirvana. If he was someone who wanted to cause chaos, he would kill at least one of them, and get the remainder to suffer Nirvana corruption.

My personal guess is that the staff managed to get him to stop short of rending them limb from limb. Either by convincing him they had more important things to do, or by being annoying enough to spoil the fun Zero was having.

Not really...
The whole "leaving them for dead" thing is even worse in Zeroes case because of his obsession with destruction...
Namely how he basically said that he is not satisfied with killing someone until their bodies are gone... really, with the way he said that it sounded like he wouldn't stop until he tore them limb from limb and obliterated the remains...

To "leave them for dead" is actually VERY out of character for him

Ah the staff... now HE was a loss
He got so little screen time before he got smashed; he was so entertaining too

It's more about having a new toy that he wants to play with as soon as he can, I mean.

Ravelt 2009-10-30 13:57

Brain/Zero like Haja/Igor from Rave Master.
Maybe Zero will be defeat by Gerard like. Like Haja and Igor be defeat by Sieg Hart.

ch. 148 is out

Well, it's not so clear without a translation and next chapters. but:

Spoiler for Gerard:

If so, than, well... poor FT, poor Erza

General_Asakura 2009-11-03 16:30

*Eminem rap*'
Guess who's back, back again... he is back, back again....

Bonta Kun 2009-11-03 18:44

You know I'm liking this turn of events, I didn't want Gerard being good so him being back to his old ways works for me....I just hope it stays this way and theres no other motive behind it all.
This should cause a little drama between Erza and Natsu, well I actually hope it does cause for some reason I've been kinda expecting something to happen between the two of them.
Yea I know it might not happen but it's something I'd like to see, just to spice things up little more:)

Well I wonder how this will go now but no doubt someone shows up to lend a hand.

one thing tho is that Luvia on the cover page?!!

cause OH. MY. GAWD!!:love::love::love:

EDIT: Just read the little extra and what sweet one it is:D
