Tokyo Ghoul [Manga]
 

Interesting little manga that unfortunately hasn't gotten much attention. Worse, english scanlations seems to have almost grinned to halt. :(

6 Chapters are currently translated, and I won't say too much to refrain from spoiling things, but this is definitely not your typical zombie manga.

Well this is a nice surprise, two new groups have picked it up. Ch7 is now out!

What happens at the near second half of the chapter isn't t unexpected, but I'm looking forward to how it plays out.

I like this one but it is not a zombie or undead kind of plot, the title might be a bit misleading, I think Ghoul here is more in line with the 1001 nights tales version (in a modern setting).

Well yeah, these guys aren't your mindless brain-eating variety, but Ghouls have always been considered a type of zombie. That said, this story kinda of portrays them like vampires due humanism given to them.

This one is really a great manga, it portrays the main character standing in the line between being a ghoul and a human very well, and the decisions he make will influence whether or not he will become a ghoul or retain his human side.... ~ snip, snip ~

Good chapter, seems like Kaneki is staring to settle into his new life a bit, but if what the manager says is true, he may only delaying the inevitable. I'm also guessing that cube probably contains a very small amount of human meat.

Hide ended up really lucking out that time back there didn't he? Those Ghoul hunters give me bad vibes and looks like they are after the mother and daughter ghouls.

Do they have to image change Kaneki so rapidly? He just got one not too long ago, and now he is getting turned into a full fledged bishie? Come on.....

Ch 11-12
 

The scene where the Manager asked Kaneki to go get "Food Supplies" was pretty funny due to the later's reaction. Speaking of which it looks like Kaneki still can't get used to eating cooked/processed food. At least he doesn't throw it up now.

He deserves it, after going through that horrible ordeal with that ghoul. Poor guy, but he gets ten times more awesome as a result.

That was a pretty good series of developments. I guess with Ch 18 Kaneki has kinda of chosen to side with ghouls. I really like how the author has been careful not to label either side as "villains" though. The two species have their own reasons for survival and their share of good and bad people. This bides pretty well for direction and depth of story.

Ch 19-20
 

Dat Cliffhanger.

However, I suspect that with Kaneki only being half ghoul the scanner, may give a false positive.

Ch 22-23

Looks like things really heating up now, can't wait to see the climax of the upcoming chapters.

Glad to see Kaneki getting his resolve. Hopefully next chapter doesn't disappoint.

Doesn't sound much different than Humans. :heh:

Being a good father doesn't make him that much less of a terrible person either.

i guess they (the police and kaneki) still rivals huh...
and kaneki had too much growth in power and personality
