It's about time to make a RG from UC again and we just had Mk.II. Though I think a fully transforming (thus possibly flimsy) Advanced MS Joint for Zeta will only benefit ~18m transforming zeta-type suits later. On the other hand, Zeta being the 1st partsformer RG will likely increase its cost to near MG prices.

Will Bandai settle for a Hyaku Shiki instead, being a Char suit?

same here. on some of my UC MGs i have used all decals (like the MK-II, the ReZEL and the zeta 2.0) but on most of there there are only a few.

Question:

Has anyone painted the MG Strike Freedom's inner gold frames black before (not the entire kit)?

Doubtful, even with the all custom paint jobs I've seen always see the frame still in gold.
It's kind of a trade mark of the suit really, would be weird to see in any other colour but not to say it wouldn't work in a different colour. Just wouldn't be as cool I'd guess.

Scratch that, I do recall a silver frame one.

Found the link!

Looks decent and thanks for the links :P

I'm just having a hard time appreciating the gold highlights that Strike Freedom has offered. That's why I haven't bought that kit.

I got a question for you guys. I'm looking to start making Gundam Models. What would be easy to start as a beginner?

High Grade kit is the one that you're looking for. Choose one that you like and that you consider simple enough for you.

My recommendation would be HG kits from Gundam AGE line like HG AGE-1 Normal and many of its alternate forms. They're new, simple, and looks good. ;)

I started with a Real Grade, you can start with whatever you want.

One word of advice, don't buy in our country. :heh:

Start with the mobile suit you've always dreamed of or see yourself piloting.

Plus checking out online reviews will greatly help when your initial budget is tight.

i started with MG strike freedom full burst mode version: http://gunpla-inochi.com/mg/mg-strik...ll-burst-mode/
building the newer gunpla models really isnt difficult in most cases. its kind of like building with legos, you just need to cut off the pieces from the runners first^^

the 1/144 scale high grade models are a good place to start though if you want to start with something less complicated.

kits that i simply cant recommend for beginners are the MG unicorn/banshee and MG sinanju and the real grade line. these kits have tons of tiny pieces so you might want to build some other kits before you get those^^

EagleBlue 2012-07-12 10:20

Thanks for the advice guys. All I need to do now is too save up for one.

Will probably start with the HG Age models. The anime doesn't really appeal to me but the Suits look good. Then go for Gundam Wing ones. Main problem now is where to buy here in the Philippines.

If you live in Metro Manila, check out Wasabi Toys or Great Toys in Greenhills Shopping Center. The prices are way cheaper compared to the kits being sold in malls.

duotiga 2012-07-12 10:44

also starting on the MG 007/G also...

didn't fancy the lighting gimmick, so paint the clear parts for the buster sword II

Good call, it's easy, pretty fun to build, modern and great to pose.

I'm not a great fan of the anime but AGE models are quite cool because of their simplistic look and excellent posability.
