Recommended order to view Kagerou Project
 

To describe the songs in the Kagerou Project, I would say they are like a spiderweb. Each song tells about an event or a story involved some characters that seems like they don't have much relations with the other songs, but in fact each song contribute something to the big picture.

I personally think you should listen to the order of songs in according to the tracklist from Jin's two albums, Mekakucity Days and Mekakucity Record.






If you want to listen to a more linear order of songs, you can refer to my recommended order below. I categorized the songs into storylines as what I think as a coherent order to view the songs. All of the official PVs are made by Shidu and Wannyanpuu, some PVs below are fanmade.



If you don't like Vocaloid, then this playlist might be for you. In the playlist I included all the Kagerou Project song covers which are to my liking. I also listed engsub vocaloid Kagerou Project songs that have no covers or have non-engsub covers. Notice the notes under the video's name to know which songs are Vocaloid and which songs are English subbed.

To note a few thing.

Summer Time Record is not a good end, it is simply a ED song. Jin has declared the music route is bad end only.

The actual ending of the music route is Mary's Fictional World, formally titles by Jin as the Music Route Final Movement.

Anime likely...

Someone in my home forum made a speculation picture based on the anime OP about which songs will appear in the anime:

I somehow have doubts the anime will conclude with a good end or explain everything necessary. He still needs to sell the novels after all. :heh:

If anime doesn't end with a good end though the novels will probably be flanked. (Did I use that word right?)

Hmm...he says 8 volumes did he? How many eps is the show again?

Finally a thread where we can spoil as we please.
So far there's no "good end" in sight. Some would argue that the route in Summertime Record was a good end, but Ayano and Hiyori are still dead, so... no.

Summertime Record isn't even an ending so much as a conclusion to the MVs...

Nope, he said that it can go up to 9 volumes at this rate.
But there is editors and publishers to deal with on the novel side, so he don't know how everything well turn out exactly.

But yeah, consider the amount of information he still has to go over, concluding with anime doesn't look possible.

Imo, Ayano and Hiyori will remain dead no matter what the result. Well, Hiyori might have a chance of surviving depending on how the Kagerou Daze story plays out in the route but considering Ayano killed herself prior to the main part of the story where divergences happen she's never coming back. Bringing her back now would just be a forced happy ending.

First, Ayano is not dead. She obtained a snake and came back to life. She just stayed in Kagerou Days intentionally to screw with Saeru no Ebi.

Either way there is going to be total of 10 snakes left, excluding Saeru no Ebi who most likely will die in the good end. In other words, not enough to bring everyone back to life.

I have a feeling that Ayano will eventually give up her snake so Hiyori can came back.

Hmm...you think Azami can do anything about it?

Probably not Azami but Mary. Mary has the "Combining Eyes" which Azami used to control the snakes.

Yes, but I'm refering to bringing everyone back to life....Mary...doesn't seem able to do that, since the snake number is limited. Looping doesn't really count no?

Azami herself is most likely going to die in the end....Wouldn't be right to separate her from her husband.

Speaking of which, Shion is in Kagerou Days too right? Has she and Azami met yet?

Didn't she pass/will pass her snake to Shintaro? Also shouldn't she be considered dead at the moment since dying is one of the conditions to get in and not coming back is as good as staying dead?
