Psycho-Pass Season 3 Anime Discussion [Fall 2019]

Psycho-pass S3 will premiere this year in October.

Is it possible for the mods if the Psycho-pass subthread could be out from the Retired section?

They've just announced a Psycho-pass Season 3!

But we never had a second season. I guess you can count these movies as season 2 in a way though. Yes I know there was a second season, but it sucked and thus is erased from existence.

In cases like these I think it's fine to make a thread in the Upcoming Series section. Or you could try to PM a mod, since I kinda doubt they read this thread.

For those who are worried about Kougami, Akane and Ginoza's appearances in S3, good news: they will be in S3.

Wonder how Kogami will appear based on season 1 and how he was used by the Sybil in the 2015 movie. Then again, I wonder if Akane and Ginoza might appear quite older.

Still, interested in seeing the portrayal of the new leads since they seem kind of cheerful.

Apparently his situation was resolved in the latest movie, although I don't know the details.

Still waiting to find out who the writer will be before deciding to watch this. This franchise has been a real mixed bag for me.

Still no news about this? As far as I can tell, after the announcement, it's been radio silence. Kinda doubt it will air this Fall.

Mad Pierrot 2019-09-01 10:41

It will air this October apparently with director Naoyoshi Shiotani back but we'll be busy in September as the DVDs of Sinners of the System will be released around the September 20s.

High chance they deliberately hiding any info as of now. It was the same with S1 if I am not mistaken.

It could be that they are waiting for the release of the latest movies on blu-rays (which happens this month I believe) before revealing things from the next season.

Another possibility is that they're having production problems.

They do this with season 2 for the most part as well.

Anyways I look forward watching the movies but I'm excited to see Tenzing's character since her genki personality type is my favorite.

Finally. October 17 is the release date.

Dynamic tag cannot be rendered. (PrintableThread)
Looks like Egoist will not be doing the ending this time.

Edit: It looks Tow Ubukata, who wrote Season 2, is going to write Season 3. Well, there goes the hype :( And it's going to be 8 episodes, 1 hour long.

Nachtwandler 2019-09-27 05:28

Yup. Ubukata as a writer is a big NO. They could ask Fukami at least (noone hoped for Urobutcher).

Also, no Akane in sight. I understand that not everyone likes her, but I personaly relly like her and having Mika instead as an "experienced" Inspector is another bad thing.

LG-MAX 2.o 2019-09-27 06:12

Yeah, that doesn't give a good perspective. But I won't criticize something I haven't seen yet. There can always be surprises.

MeoTwister5 2019-09-27 07:34

I liked Akane. Even when she was becoming the veteran in the team she still gave the show that more refreshingly honest POV despite the subject matter.

AP24 2019-09-27 09:51

So it's going to be the equivalent of 16 normal length episodes

I can safely cross this show off my list.

Mad Pierrot 2019-09-27 11:41

Wasn't the writer Makoto Fukami? He worked in the Sinners films and season 1

Wandering Soul 2019-09-27 12:13

Yeah, my hopes for this show have pretty much been destroyed.
