Sword & Wizards

Publisher : Hobby Japan/HJ Bunko
Author : Yusura kankitsu
Illustrator : Niθ
Website : http://hobbyjapan.co.jp/hj45/s_w/

Satsukiba Sorata who inherited one of the most powerful sword/weapon from his father enrolled in one of the most prestigious magic school/academy which specialised in combating a mysterious "änti-magic" organization which wreck havoc all over the world. He is a prodigy in sword fighting and a master in strategic planning but not very good in using magic..The reason he joined the school is that he could enjoy "peace" and anonimity knowing he is not the only one who could use magics for himself.
But on the very first day of the school itself he was already challenged by a red haired girl who specialised in the elemantal fire in a duel...

please don't use my summary, it's not very good

Well, that's it? :twitch: No synopsis or any info of what this is about? At least put some information when creating a thread...

By the way, I have seen the illustrations of volume 1. The MC and the two girls from the first cover seem pretty interesting!

Synopsis atleast is more important than illustrations

dragon1412 2015-07-18 23:23

no actually, those illustration already make me want to follow this series.

You gotta hand it to the artist, no two ways to interpret these images.

I so like it when these kind of stories make it understood where things are going and you don't have to waste time reading the usual blueballing and cockblocking the harem genre is infamous for.

Ophis 2015-07-19 03:54

Indeed, the illustrations are amazing as fuck! This one and Masou Gakuen H×H truly make you want to read them just by the illustrations.

Sadly, I can't read Japanese nor is there a translator-san for them. :(

...so demanding :heh:
Anyway OP is updated with my not-so-convincing summary.Apologised for not posting it cuz i was in the rushed.I did not fully read the book just a glance of it

More pictures of of the MC first four haremettes elemental knights

Fire, Water, electricity and space/time

That armour could transform into a vehicle and a humanoid form. The MC could also wear that armour and use it's elemantal magic together with his swords simillar to saint seiya and kamen rider!
the best part The MC sister is mischieveous and she's willing to commit "incest" when the "need" arise...:heh:

Hokoga 2015-07-19 06:33

If Niθ is doing the illustrations then this will probably get an anime with a bunch of pointless overly ecchi OVA's to go with it.

Is the girl shown in the illustrations with the side ponytail is she the MC's sister?

Is it ok if I call NL Sword & Dat Ass?

dragon1412 2015-07-19 06:39

Instant follow.

Breimn 2015-07-19 06:51

Summary already looks like a copy of these recent magic schools novels we are getting lately. I think name of one was something like gakuen toski?

I think the summary is from a wrong series. That's Blade Dance's- I mean, Asterisk's summary

Not even close to either of those... :uhoh: If you were trying to be sarcastic, you failed miserably. :eyebrow:

Heck, there's very little similarity between Asterisk and Blade Dance either...

Yeah I guess. Though you know what I'm implying:uhoh:

This feels like a manifestation of all existing cliches and power fantasies a high school battle novel could possibly have.

Konja9 2015-07-19 13:04

Well, I found some images:

To be fair, it's really, really difficult to come up with something really original nowadays. And this stuff sells, it's why you see so many copycat works.

Not that it doesn't deserve criticism for being unoriginal and recycling tropes, but I'd rather take a well executed cliche narrative (not that I'm saying this is one) over a novel disaster.

Then again, there's always the possibility it's gonna be one of those stories where the MC actually sabotages the usual "flags".

So long as he's not the usual thickheaded, monkish dolt, the plot goes somewhere and it lives up to the harem part I'll take it.

Namorax 2015-07-19 16:56

Looks like a mix of mechas and sword&sorcery fantasy... doesn't look very interesting so far. And since I don't read a series because the illustrations show amazing butts and busts artwork I think I'll skip this one until there is more info about the content.

jaydreadzz 2015-07-20 07:41

damn that cover pic
ass fetish novel?

obnuchious 2015-07-20 09:59

though I know flame-type characters are rather impulsive, but does it really have to be them all the time that challenges the MC at the start of the novel???????

or is their encounter rate with any MC really that high ..... ?

Breimn 2015-07-20 10:32

Fire using tsunderes are a must nowadays......It is part of the copypaste character cliches.
