Simple really. ^__^
It's in 1/144 scale and the conversion kit is for 1/100 scale...
There are fair number of gunpla modellers who do 1/100 scale mainly - me included though I use 1/144 for vinette/diorama due to the base size.

Here's the 2nd 1/100 scale one I did...

Background of the 2nd and 3rd pic.

Already finished with straight building of the Zeta (plus decals and panel-lining). Needs some layer of top coat or something.

Wait.. what the hell? Korea gets new model kits weeks before Japan does? :twitch: Is there a reason why Bandai does that?

OMG_Zerg_Rush 2007-01-21 03:39

Anyone interested in making this 5-foot 1/12 scale RX-78-2 Gundam model? http://www.bandai.co.jp/releases/J2006080303.html

it's something to do with shipping and etc.
or the distributor in Korea are allowed to release the new kits before Japan's release date...

Yes it is rather expensive but when you won it as prize it doesn't cost you much does it? ^__^

Lolz. Lucky bastards. I want one...that and the Zaku. I would chain them up, and put them at my front door. :heh:

WaytoDawn 2007-01-22 04:57

ok, i just recently got a can of flat topcoat. And an modelling knife. And so i decided to try it first on something i'd done earlier. This is my Murasame that i made last yr and at that time i didn't have the right equipment so the sprue marks are still obvious even after i trimed them with the knife. I just Sharpened the V-fin and added topcoat. These aren't very sharp cause i just shot them with my 2 MP phone.

Derringer 2007-01-22 23:04

From Gunota

MG Strike Noir - March, 4,725 yen
HGUC Mass-Produced Gelgoog Cannon - March, 1,680 yen
EX Model Hildolfr - 1/144, March, 7,140 yen
1/100 Akatsuki Full Set - w/ gold plating, March, 7,350 yen
HCM-Pro Gelgoog - Kuspen version, March, 2,100 yen
HCM-Pro Mass-Produced Gelgoog - IGLOO version, March, 2,100 yen

Oh wow, Bandai decided to have one version with both packs for the Akatsuki. Neato. Unfortunately...MORE EXPENSIVE THAN FRIGGIN MG SF FULL BURST. Ugh....I don't want to pay $60 (and then probably at least $10 for shipping) and then have to remove the plating crap -_-;

DarkWarrior 2007-01-22 23:06

Holy crap, I can't believe it... another Strike variant for a MG. I don't have anything against the Strike Noir, but where's my MG Destiny? :frustrated: And ROFL @ 1/100 Akatsuki's price.

SNT1 2007-01-22 23:21

Akatsuki @7000 yen., f that! WTF. W-T-F!

But a Strike Noir.... could be my first Strike MG :)

DarkWarrior 2007-01-22 23:40

http://www.hobbystock.jp/item/view/g...00000160.0.jpg

MG Hi-Nu that Gunota just posted. I think I'm used to the redesign now.. it looks pretty good.

And I'm hoping that Bandai didn't decide to reuse the old MG Strike inner-frame for the Strike Noir. If they didn't, then I'm definitely getting one. Despite my earlier reaction, Strike Noir is the only Strike variant I actually like. 1/100 Akatsuki has me stumped though.. the fully plated Gold Frame was 3800 yen, why is Akatsuki's price nearly double? Does the extra pack really add that much?

duotiga 2007-01-22 23:45

MG Strike Noir..i guess is taken the baseline as MG Strike ..i just hoping for double beam rifle and stand...

As for Akatsuki....come together i guess will be the same package as Zaku Wizards packs but more expensive since is GOLD PLATED....

Akyra 2007-01-22 23:45

Well according to Gunota, the 1/100 Akatsuki is coming out! WITH MG STRIKE NOIR!...Bandai has finally (and successfully) bankrupted me!

EDIT: Damn got beaten to it...lolz

LoweGear 2007-01-23 00:21

MG... Strike Noir?!?!?! O_O

Now that is the most awesome Gundam related news I've ever heard (until they release news of a MG Destiny XD)

Derringer 2007-01-23 00:23

Um lawl. Stargazer mechal gets MG treatment before Destiny.

On another note, the Sazabi is only 650 yen more than this new Akatsuki

SNT1 2007-01-23 00:35

well to be fair, its cheaper for Bandai to make a S-Noir.

Btw, S-Noir is MG# what now?

Deus EpS Machina 2007-01-23 00:41

#97, Strike Noir is #97

Tak 2007-01-23 00:48

Did somebody say Strike Noir is getting a MG treatment?! WHAT?! S*** man! My wallet is gonna bleed again!

Deus EpS Machina 2007-01-23 02:18

In that huge list of new releases from Bandai...

MG Strike Noir - March, 4,725 yen
thats the only thing that really interested me.

MG Strike Noir was a given ever since it turned out to be a Strike variant. I'll get that but unfortunately, knowing Bandai, it will be the original MG Strike with added parts for Noir pack. I was hoping they'ld incorporate the MG Strike Freedom frame in there somehow...or at the very least the little lock in the back that keeps the model from falling on its arse (we may get that in Hi-Nu, who knows). Oh, and the new handplugs

EDIT: Well, i can see why they used this new thin design of Hi-nu. In CCA, Nu Gundam was incomplete, this version of Hi-Nu is what we would have gotten in the anime had time been given for completion.

Take a look at the body, not much differece eh?

Colours and the backpack are pretty much the only huge differences so its understandable why this was made and not the the bulky hardcore mecha sex version

IN-ANIME CONTINUITY?! I THINK SO

LightningZERO 2007-01-23 05:01

MG Strike Noir? Damn it. I'm gonna broke. I just bought IWSP yesterday!!! Now I must buy both Strike Noir and Hi-Nu Gundam. i really dig the colour scheme of Hi-Nu. But the stand looks kinda weak and can't support the weight of Hi-Nu

Meehlimo 2007-01-23 05:47

That news of MG strike noir is everything i wanted to hear in a long time i love black gundams and noir is just so cool lookingyou can deny that even for a strike varient. Btw whats wit the black akatsuki just preprodution colors?

Deus EpS Machina 2007-01-23 07:37

Thats what models with gold plating look like prior to being plated.

Remember the HG 1/144 Akatsuki?

Its still a prototype so theres no point in plating something that isnt final as that material is obviously expensive

LoweGear 2007-01-23 07:54

MG Hi Nu on Gundambase

And it shows off the Amuro Display stand with fin funnel effects parts!!! S-Freedom FB has nothing on Hi-Nu! O_O

duotiga 2007-01-23 08:04

nw i am tempted to get both H-Nu and the Nu....

............?!?!?!?!
u forgettin Strike Freedom !!!
it is a Destiny mecha isnt it...... :heh:

so 1 Destiny mecha already got MG treatment :D

LoweGear 2007-01-23 08:51

I think he meant the Destiny Gundam itself, not GSD in general.

Akyra 2007-01-23 09:12

A black Akatsuki actually looks ok...the shiny black will make it look awesome.

LightningZERO 2007-01-23 11:52

It's only a matter of time we get a MG Strike E Gundam with IWSP
