So what's different about the different plastics?

PS
ABS
..etc.

o_O

PS is rather weak and soft. but its more than sturdy enough to for the outer armor. you know styrofoam cups? same material^^
ABS is a heavyduty plastic. its very strong, even when its pretty thin. that makes it perfect for the inner frame of a model.

I don't say anything about painting, right :eyebrow:? I just answered your question about the plastic in SD, HG, and MG kits. I tried to be nice by kindly answering your question and you replied with sarcasm? *Sigh* Just how childish are you :eyebrow:?

Ah, not bad, Appel. Not bad at all ^_^. Might be better if you broke a piece from the top of the shield.

I love shiny gold, the more reflective it's, the more I love it.

Terrific MS. Have you tried transforming it to the waverider mode?

We'll one won't want to risk the gold. Are the chromed runners undergated?

runners are undergated for the gold runners

I hate chrome parts. But I would prefer to strip the chrome off and then give it a metallic sheen with paint.

Have started on the Mg Banshee....painted the fin n collar gold

HasuMasu 2012-04-13 00:37

I always thought glowing orange would fit the Banshee's psychoframe the most, I even remember reading somewhere that it was called psychoflame. :eyespin::heh:

yup. it does have the nickname "psychoflame"^^ which is why i will paint the inside of its frame with verybright orange UV paint. my banshee has yet to arrive though... but im curious how it will turn out on the clear orange plastic.

Butagami 2012-04-13 05:55

That's true. But the fin and collar aren't a part of the psychoframe. They're kind of yellowy gold on the model, so I understand if you'd want to paint that.

edit: Sort of ninja'd by Appel...

right. although after seeing rrobberts review on youtube this morning the yellow pieces really dont look that bad... but all the vents need to be painted as well because they are molded in clear orange as well. so you might as well paint the yellow pieces, too.

duotiga 2012-04-13 07:22

this is what i did yesterday night

Appel 2012-04-13 07:35

there is still some yellow poking through though as it seems^^ i think a second layer of paint would be a good idea.
also, to get a really nice gold effect a third coat of clear yellow would look great! thats how the manual of the HG banshee recommends it for example.

duotiga 2012-04-13 07:53

yea,, am about to do 2nd/3rd layer of coating for the gold, just touching up as a base 1st

its usually enough to have two layers of a metallic paint.
