Lightning Zeta looks good straight-built. For IBO, its as Obelisk says HG Grimgerde and HG Graze look great.

You could just get somebody else to do the painting for you, know any art students? As for stickers, I use surgical tweezers I got from the local clinic to put them on.

Agreed, that's just wrong.

Finally finished my RG Freedom Gundam after being put on hold while haflway through for several months. IMO is one of the best designs in the franchise.

Up next would be HG Mega Shiki and then HG Denial.

Still haven't decided which model to buy next.

Chibiloli 2016-06-01 04:18

Anybody know where I can get a harpoon weapon for my HG kits? Either something I can attach to a hardpoint or handheld without the need for a trigger finger, preferably a harpoon gun of sorts.

wavehawk 2016-06-01 06:05

Well, you could always either look for arrowhead shaped toothpicks or make your own. Harpoons come in different shapes so you can feel free to use anything as long as the scale or size fits.

Worst case you can probably just make one from your sprue bits.

I dont think there any any weapons in gunpla that even resembles a harpoon gun or a harpoon itself

Best bets imo are to mod a spearlike weapon or scratch build, which actually should not be that hard

Onto other things: I bet nobody saw that boxart coming (sarcasm)

Strike Noir, GM Sniper K9, Zaku Amazing, Kampfer Amazing, Gundam Dynames and its successors.

Are these the only ones that have pistols as part of their regular arsenal?

Recently developed a liking for handguns and revolvers on my gunpla but, it seems there aren't many MS variants that use them.

Oh well, scratch build time.

You forgot that Gundam The End & Gundam Maxter has nice pairs of revolvers and pistols. Even Gundam Stargazer & Civilian Astray DSSD has a single beam pistol each, and I believe there are others too.

xeviouses 2016-06-01 23:45

Forgot about The End and Maxter, thanks for that. Isn't the beam pistol Stargazer used the one it snagged from Noir?

Would the beam spray guns counts as pistols? I mean it is small.

Chibiloli 2016-06-02 00:17

Yeah, you guys know any reliable sites I could try to learn from on how to scratch build my own parts? I'm not so sure about buying a pressure cooker for melting down my sprues.

No, it's not. The pistol is Stargazer's own weapon.

I think it does.

Build Strike, the base form of its rifle is a pistol. Comes with the HG and MG (HG its separate, in MG the rifle parts snap over it as you change the forms of the gun)

And Blu Duel, sorta? The pistols/rifles mounted on its arms, its size is sorta in between

Do the Crossbone units count? Technically they have beam rifles but the guns look like your typical pirate pistols with a little bit added on

man, i hope they fixed the issue of the torso dock that constantly detaches & falls off even if you try to move it just a little, overall at least we now have fully articulated wings, the old school static wings was a total nightmare to pose with.

So I'm planning to get a new Master Grade kit.

Given my budget, my top 3 choices are the RX-78 3.0, the RX-178 Gundam MkII AEUG ver, and the Unicorn Gundam OVA ver.

Which is the best one among the three in your opinion?

I'm after a kit that gives a good building experience and has good poseability.

The best of those three? Well, it's obviously the MG RX-78-2 3.0. Go get it.

On top of Obelisks post, the Mk.II 2.0 is a great kit as well, not quite as detailed/complex as the 3.0, but for a kit thats like a decade old it holds up ridiculously well. Comes with a little display base of sorts too

The Unicorn cant really pose dynamically at all if thats what you want. It has problems aside from that oo. Only buy if you are a fan of the design

Ryuuoh DeltaPlus 2016-06-05 08:34

Ooh thanks for the opinions guys!~

BTW, what do you think of the Astray Red Frame MG?

I really like it, and am planning to get one soon..

Tormenk 2016-06-05 09:48

I'll toss in my vote to the MG MK II as well. But really either that or the RX 78 3.0 is fine.
MG Astray Red Frame will fit your criteria of a good build experience and good poseability really well too. Might need some paint for the gold katana parts but there's no real cons for it.

Having seen the new HG Hyaku Shiki and RG Sinanju up close from the current Gunpla Expo, I don't see any flaws to them. The HG Hyaku Shiki's gold is kinda a bright metallic yellow so no worries about the matt puke yellow color if that's a concern. The RG Sinanju doesn't seem to have any dual tones for the red parts but part separation is excellent. There's even silver frame parts for the shoulder armor from what I could catch.
