Oooo, can't wait to see that. What sized models are you going to use?

The_Marshal_AEB 2006-02-18 02:55

Am using the 1/100s and working on the sword pack now about to finish cutting, sanding, resizing, and cleaning parts of the Sword Strike then I'll start painting.
Till now I worked about 16 hours on SStrike

The whole process is explained here for those who are intrested http://s9.invisionfree.com/Penetrate...?showtopic=833

was at the mate's place to finish off a joint project and while was there took the snap of his previous work... he said it's Zeta Gundam Ver Ka of sort... tongue.gif

Well enough for the off topic.
Here's the what we were working together: joint project between mate of mine and me - he built the kit and I painted it... It's easier since he can build the kits at his leisure time and I cam come over on weekends to paint the thing with my trusty air brush combo... (took few weeks to finish though.

The kit is basically BOOB but he had an idea of replacing the shoulder shield with another shoulder spike armour and basically make it more bulky that it really is... Other than that no other mod was done... this shows how good Zaku II F2 kit really is compared to the old Zaku II which I used in my now suspended diorama project. Talk of the diorama project I may ask him to finish it off though there's the danger that he wanted to keep it to himself rather than give it back to me... I have to return the Zaku II F2 Custom once I decided on the type of base... (Contrast to his wish I may end up making very simple base with Zeon logo between two Acrylic plates held together using bolts...

The_Marshal_AEB 2006-02-18 12:30

Anyway this is what I finished till now http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y20...00/SSTasim.jpg

That's still a PG model for 100 bucks.. not bad. Why Amazon added a Wing Zero Custom picture is beyond me.

Anyways, it looks like Amazon is almost done dumping their stock of Gundam kits. Ah I wish I knew about some of the sales beforehand though.. $20 PG Wing Zero Custom... mmm.

Do any of you know where to get kits in Toronto, Canada? There's pmall and 2 stores in chinatown but they sell them for really high prices.

theOtherGuy 2006-02-19 00:24

Ask Nesty because...

If he was able to get a Hrududu at that store, I think it'd be pretty nice.

Does anyone here happen to own one of these figures?

http://store.walloffame.net/gusedegqmema.html

I have been working with a number of the Impulse kits recently, doing a few kitbashes and custom color jobs and I realized that what is really lacking is a Blast Impulse. I want to do a 1/100 scale kit to go with my existing Sword, Force and Phase Shift Down versions, but I don't have the experience to make a custom pack like that, but I do think I could make that one work from the Metal Material figure. I'm just wondering if the pack would be the right size. Spending 70 bucks to find out is not something I really want to do.

theOtherGuy 2006-02-19 05:26

I'm curious...a $2.00 US 1/144 HG Rx-78-2 Gundam? Was the first release of this model THAT bad?

http://www.megahobby.com/cgi-bin/sho...rchResult.html

It sort of kind of looks like these...but without the core fighter. Is that why it's crap?

What scale are the MSIA's? You can always buy the MSIA Blast Impulse and mod the pack parts to fit a kit?

OmegaZEROCustom 2006-02-19 05:45

I believe the MSiA's are more like a 1/144th scale. While I plan to eventually mod either the NG pack or the MSiA pack onto a 1/144th scale Impulse in order to have a complete set in 1/144th, my goal is to have the 1/100 as well. I'll settle for the 1/144th if I absolutly can't get the 1/100 in any form. The more I look at that Metal Material kit, the more I am convinced it is the correct scale.

As for that HG RX-78, I just ordered one. I have that same kit and I didn't see anything wrong with it when I bought it. I just want a new one to work with so I can use the old one to practise some paint methods on.

I use paint brush and spray paint. I'd use my airbrush, but....ran out of paint for it lol....paint brush saves more paint than airbrush. OR I could just get off this chair and go buy some :heh:

byt the way, without my knowing, I actually painted my Sword Calamity in real MSV color instead of the orange. lol I was so surprised when I checked up on the Sword Calamity online, wow talk about intuition...

dumbo63 2006-02-19 17:48

While we're talking about supplies anyone know where I can get some filling putty?

triggafinga666999 2006-02-19 18:25
