International Saimoe League 2015

The new year is here and so is the International Saimoe League. Nominations will start March 1, 2015 and will last for two week. There will be some small changes to ISML this year that will updated in this post in the near future. The nomination form will soon be up, so please nominate and post them here.
  • Which Nova characters will you nominate for 2015?
  • Which Stella characters will you nominate for 2015?
  • Which Male characters will you nominate for 2015?
  • Which new characters do you expect to win necklaces and possibly the tiara?
  • Which characters from the 2014 seasonal tournament will rise/fall in strength?

Remember to participate in ISML in 2015! You can visit us at the link below:

I'm afraid of happiness.
It's so frightening and I feel uneasy,
like the reality in front of me
...is actually just a dream.

  • If you want to help us out in running this event, visit us @ #isml on irc.rizon.net
  • ISML also has its own forum if you really dislike posting in one single thread

Important changes to ISML 2015:
  • New male division
  • Previous Tiara winners will bypass regular season and postseason to enter the Tournament of Champions

General Rules:
  • Absolutely no campaign posts allowed.
This includes posts containing ANY campaign verbiage whether in whole or in part. Contributing to the debate is encouraged, provided you do NOT add "VOTE ABCD!!!" (or similar to the post itself). Simply rebutting another's post or opinion with "XYZ sucks" is totally unacceptable.
  • Please do not create a post with the sole purpose to campaign for a character!
  • No Image campaigning.
Do not create a post with an image or collage representation of a campaign poster. In other words: a PhotoShopped image of the character you want people to vote for with “vote for” text added to it.

Posting Etiquette:
  • Please do not cross post information about this tournament in other AnimeSuki threads.
Keep all Anime Saimoe Tournament posts, campaigns, character information, voting links, etc., within this thread only or in your signature (signature size limits still apply) , with exception of other threads that also deals with Saimoe and similar events.
  • No "meta-posting".
Meaning: posting about another poster, the thread or about another post itself, is forbidden and will be deleted on-the-spot, regardless of intention. If you want to comment about another poster that’s off-topic and/or personal, send them a PM.
  • Any flame-baiting will be deleted and those people banned.
Please keep the thread positive, fun and clean. If your choice doesn’t win the Round and you can’t discuss the fact without complaining, swearing and baiting people into arguments, then don’t post.
  • Do not create image only posts.
You can, however, include an image with your discussion. If you want to visually support the character you’re voting for then please do so in the context of your original discussion and use only one or two images. We would encourage the use of “thumbnails” if possible (and please, no large images). PM the mods if you need help with posting thumbnail images.

Soon, you can nominate 12 females (divided into Nova/Stella) and 8 males. Who will be on your list?

Ithekro 2015-02-13 02:46

Wait, what?

What criteria are the males chosen?

And why are previous winners not participating in the Round Robin?

That would be "(male) moe", which at this point is a rather nebulous term. The voters choose their own definitions.

It would be helpful if voters include their idea of what male moe is in their comments here. I'm curious about how male/female voters define this term/idea.

Ichuki 2015-02-13 20:04

I am quite intrigued on how the male division will turn out.

KholdStare 2015-02-14 00:16

I am too. For example, I know male and female voters will have different "moe criteria" when voting for a male. I'm looking forward to the rage and salt.

EDIT: If anyone can speak Filipino or Thai, ISML requires for translation service for just a quickie! Please send me a PM.

If the female character appeared in any ISML match during 2014, you must use Nova+Stella form. If the character appeared before Dec. 31st 2014 but did not appear in any ISML match during 2014, you have freedom to choose between Nova+Stella and Winter Seasonal, but you must choose only one of them. If the character's first appearance was after Jan. 1st, 2015 , then you must use Winter Seasonal form.

For Male characters, if they appeared before Dec. 31st 2014, they can be in the Male form. If their first appearance was after Jan. 1st, 2015, then you have to wait until 2016 to nominate them.

Please tell me specific characters you are considering and I will tell you their correct placement(s) .

I've been out of these for a while (for some reason), so I'm looking forward to seeing how this goes.

Well I didn't see Yona listed in any of the seasonal matches from last year, so hopefully she's ok in winter.

Also wtf@alegabra to vote now; what next calculus next year :heh::eyespin:?

Dynamic tag cannot be rendered. (PrintableThread)
Just thru next month to find out if I should really care or not this year, or if I'll just declare it ISHL again and basically lose hope in this despite it being ran than J-saimoe by huge margin.

Sadly Yona lost to Suzuki Kana on the first round of 2014 Fall Seasonal

As for Calculus, we won't go that far but we will diversify captchas.

Gah I missed that, then damn, I looked thru that exact page before I submitted, and just failed to see it, oh well no one else I was super wanting to put in the winter spot anyways.

I have seen many people say "I don't nominate this character because she will surely get in without my vote". If you do this, you may have knocked down your character's nomination rank by at least one, and if many of your fellow supporters did this as well, that can result in bad nomination rank for your character. People needs to realize that the nomination rank is tremendously important because ISML staff will rely heavily on the nomination rank to determine the seeding and initial group placements. Low nomination rank will certainly mean that he/she will be a given bad seeds, forcing her/him to be placed in avery tough group that will make it hard to get as much vote as he/she can. This will make it very hard to avoid another tough group in the next round, perpetuating the cycle. Most "promising" candidates who bows out within prelim goes through this cycle. In addition, not being able to make a strong impression always had a negative impact that lasts the entire year, which will damage any chance he/she has for necklace and postseason glory. Right now almost no character is very far away from the at least one character with less nomination, which means that nomination ranks all over the place are changing every hour. If you don't want to kill your favorite characters chance for ISML glory, you need to get out the news and find people to nominate in ISML. Hurry as time is running out.

I don't nominate anyone cause I can't be bothered, unless there was a list I could choose from xP
