Oh, okay, that made sense. But then, all our speculations and all the training the girls (both the core and the second unit) have to go through will come to naught if they can't play in official tournaments.

Speaking of which, is the 3-point line implemented in elementary school basketball From what I know, it's actually implemented, it's just that the kids can't or won't just pull off 3's. Trying to get an and-one is far more practical than throwing long bombs while praying it would connect. And that's assuming you're a good free-throw shooter.

Two things:

1. A 5-6 player dunking on something like a 10-ft board. Is it plausible?
2. With a three-point line implemented, Masami could become a beast from long-range if she works on her accuracy from downtown.
Like I posted earlier, there's a reason why the Chinese basketball teams in the 1990's are afraid of the Philippine number 8.

The 3-point line is definitely implemented. From elementary, to juniors, amateurs and pro basketball. But girls don't have as much guts to shoot the long bomb unlike guys. Well back on topic

That's why they need to practice, especially during shootaround. Masami continues to extend her range so I can only hope for the best. She doesn't need to be like a Reggie Miller or Ray Allen but she must make herself open most of the time. The team can practice off the pick jumpshots, layups, post moves and whatever offense the team can capitalize on. Focus on the offense since they don't have a lot of problem on defense.

Spoiler for Are you ready to LAUGH?:
:heh::heh::heh:

HAHAHA! I would pay to see THAT! This is AWESOME!

judasmartel 2011-10-25 05:04

Previous post said, is it possible for Airi to pull off a slam dunk even once? That would be $$MONEY$$ if that happens.

Yui Is My Wife 2011-11-02 11:47

Replying to above post:

Well, it may be photoshopped, but you gotta admit it would be awesome if this happend!!

Nope, that's not photoshopped.

It's a screenshot from episode 3 of the anime, when Tomoka's team imagines Airi as a "beast" inside the paint if only she could overcome her height complex and realize that size is an asset in such a sport as basketball.

Either way, if the current starting five is going to be Kenshin's best lineup, than it seems that the author is developing team similar to Shaq-Kobe Lakers. With Airi become a beast in the middle and Tomoka as the versatile rover that play according to match-ups and the rest of team are good shooter who can pass, ideal for Triangle. With Maho handling close/mid shots, Saki handling mid/long shots and assist, and Hinata be the pesky defender that does outside shot and act as 2nd ball handler.

Where can I read the Chinese version btw? I'm not a Chinese speaker tho, so I guess I have to go through Google Translate to make sense of it.

Just gone through the novel illustration of volume 7 and 8. Can someone tell me what is going on in volume 7?

There is one thing I don't get it, why would the6y change Airi's hairstyle in the anime? Did she look to similar to a particular eletric princess?

I bought V1-V5 off book.com.tw and have them ship to U.S. Fan translation is only a little further @V6. Google and Wiki is your best friend...

Hm? I thought Biri-Biri had tomboy hair tho. But she and Airi both have the same hair color, except that Airi has a semi-Hime cut or something, while Biri-Biri's are a little bit messy compared to Airi.

Well, yup.

Just one of them, it's a mystery I know.

I suspect the milk.

Or that it runs in the family? Airi's older brother Banri is a big man himself @ 195 cm (6-4) at like, Subaru's age or something.

And take note, Subaru has to tiptoe just to match Airi's height!

Yui Is My Wife 2011-11-04 02:05

I supect their father would be 7 feet tall, yes? :heh:

Or the food? No, not really. If it's the milk, well, that's one hell of a milk.

I remembered my mum telling me how much of a fat*ss I was as a kid because I was fed with a special recipe involving milk and mungo beans. Our cat also used to get some of that as well. After a while, THE CAT SWELLED UP A LOT OF POUNDS!

In all the drawings it's shown that Subaru's taller by what looks like a couple of centimetres, the tip-toeing for that bit is just to make Airi think she shrank. :heh:

Yeah, but still. Airi is just too developed for her age.

But no worries. Size is an asset in basketball, after all.

stormtrooper 2011-11-06 08:06

I'm just reading Volume 8 right now

I don't know, to me her height, while not common, is not out of realistic realm. I've seen elementary girls with over 160cm before. Her cup size is the one that seems a bit too develop.....

judasmartel 2011-11-06 09:10

I was just thinking: What if Keishin faces Tomoka's old school? Would that be an interesting plot to go through? It would be like Tomoka facing her past with the help of her present friends.

Especially if the old school's team suddenly got better after Tomoka left.

Hell, with the new additions to the team, Mokkan has to resist the urge to go into Stop Having Fun Guy mode.
