I think its some sort of 'seat' to steady the Gundam when it snipes.

Yeah, maybe it is Shield Fang.It could also be use like some sort of stabilizer for sniping.

Exia_00 2008-09-27 10:29

i know its a no brainer to notice that the parts on the tail are identical to that of the shield on the left shoulder and the knee pads, say that if those parts held missiles lik the knees on dynames, could these shield parts be replacements too? or in general just replacement parts if they get damaged - just a guess

and for the pistols they are also axe like things, but would they double as beam sabers too

Sir Dearka 2008-09-27 10:31

To me, Cherudim looks kinda cool. Its design has already grown on me :]

But I think I shall wait for the 1/100 version.

Not identical, but exactly the same.

GN Fangs seem like the most probable possibility at the moment, though it might be something else. We'll see about that once the series airs.

Scavenger 2008-09-28 11:50

At first I didn't like Cherudim, but after seeing the photos of the modelkit I'm starting to like it's design. It doesn't look like it has any melee weapons, but maybe those pistols are beam sabers. Or maybe the sniper rifle/machinegun combo can form a melee weapon ala Zeta Gundam.

I've ordered some Gundam kits at HLJ, which should ship this few days.
1/144 HGUC Nu Gundam
1/144 HG OO Gundam
1/144 HG Kyrios Gundam (I'm now smashing my head since it's discounted at the moment at HLJ)
2x fine grey Gundam marker
2x Sparkle Green Action Base 1

Maybe I'll switch over to Rainbowten. HLJ takes too much time.

Ah, I still have some kits to build and now I'm adding some extra weight on that pile. My poor Astray Blue frame, Astraea Type F, Strike Noir, Buster Gundam, MG IWSP pack (Finished Strike itself though).

The GN Handguns have been confirmed as melee weapons of sort. Of what kind is still a mystery, though the blade-like appearance of its bottom part would suggest a GN Blade.

Somehow, I'm feeling the urge to resist buying up the S2 Gundams until further down the road, when maybe better model kits will come up (like how the Dynames + GN-Arms Type D was released with beam pistols). :eyespin:

i agree. i held off on buying dynames because i had a feeling something would come out that was better, and gn arms type-d came out.

Just like me. But I won't overlook the 1/100 Cherudim :)

new unicorn coming?

C.A. 2008-09-29 06:33

The V-fin looks overkill lol and reminds me of Anti-Spiral. Looks evil to me.

Maybe it's Kirin Gundam rather than Unicorn Gundam?:D
http://images.elfwood.com/art/b/l/bl...rZd.121301.jpg

The Kirin is considered the greatest of all Asian mythological beasts, even greater than the sacred Dragons. That's why the Mononoke Hime movie by Miyazaki has the forest God made in the image of a Kirin.

C.A. 2008-09-29 07:12

Ah, that's a good speculation.

Besides the greatness of the Kirin, its also quite often refered as the unicorn of eastern myths.

Its very likely 'Kirin' will be an upgrade of Unicorn.

Ottocycle 2008-09-29 08:37

Forgive the cynicism...but I sure hope they try and make the v-fin a little more sturdy this time. Goodness knows how many of those broke among the numerous Unicorn models sold out there.

LightningZERO 2008-09-29 12:02

I want a back-up v-fin!

StratoSpear 2008-09-29 17:11

*Snip*

Forget the Unicorn.... I'm torn between the MG Force Impulse and the MG Launcher/Sword Strike.

Which one should I buy!? Help me!!

I say MG Impulse. It looks sweet with its more elongated design. Looks pretty cool if put in Impulse vs. Freedom Master Grade combo :]

Cox 2008-09-30 17:28

I'd do that, if it was not a Model Kit thread :P Sarah Jean Underwood is my favorite playmate of all time. ;)

But back to kits... maybe you guys'll tell me whether it is a good idea to buy a Throne Zwei to recreate its combat scene with Dynames in GN Arms? Does any of you have the Zwei and are you content with it?

1/144 HG Throne Zwei has so much to paint, it's a complete pain in the ass. And the Fangs are not removeable. It's all one plastic piece. Fail. But if you want to just have the Zwei in cool Buster Sword poses, by all means...

Derringer 2008-10-01 00:11

there's a lot of 00 model kits on sale at HLJ right now

The official english site lists it as "Arrows"?
Wait, what?!

My guess is either:

- Some people are not up to date with 00 News :eyebrow:

OR

- They did it on purpose. :heh:

Scavenger 2008-10-01 02:26

The whole Arrows and A-Laws fiasco is so stupid.

I have a plan to buy a SD OO and then modify the two shields it comes with to use it on the 1/144 HG OO.

LoweGear 2008-10-01 03:11

The offficial English site has been known to make major mistakes on model kit entries and descriptions before, like how one time they actually swapped the descriptions for the HCM-Pro and the HG Virtue, and other spelling mistakes. And ultimately, the boxart text ultimately overrides any other spelling.

7000 Yen huh ? 1000 Yen cheaper than the MG Sazabi here, so that clears my doubt about it being a Sazabi recast.

Only Gimmicks I see are the backpack opening up, so at least there's a chance that it will be more flexible than then Unicorn.

duotiga 2008-10-01 08:45

Wallet is bleeding a lot for this end of the yr "procurements"

LightningZERO 2008-10-01 08:53
