If we have time tonight, we may get the panel lines in... it's all based on how much time we have...

Can anyone read Japanese or have an English-Japanese paint color guide?

I'm trying to touch up on my Garazzo and I have no clue what one of the colors is.
I'm using a paint color guide and its not anywhere on it.

Its for the grapefruit red. I know that its 20% white, 15% yellow and 10% neutral gray. I have no clue what the largest part of it is, though, and those three mixes just gets me a murky yellow.

just how does anyone make a 00 quanta? exia and 00 parts are obvious, the shoulder aromor isnt that clear. i can see someone using the support for the 00 shoulder drive to hold a wing binder from O raiser. though i dont know how you can modify a wing binder that much to include the clear green.

SonicSP 2010-03-26 00:45

I think some stuff are made from scratch, some pros can do that. That would be how they can make variants with parts that are not in any mass produced kits at all in some of the variants.

all i have to say is that they really deserve big props for the sheild/sword bits on the model. i could imagine them using epoxy to make parts but that all precision work i'd love to be able to do. i really like how well the modified wing binder on the 100 quanta was done, imo its the highlight of that model. i wish i knew how to make a quanta from scratch too. since that isnt the case im tempted to get a 00 quanta kit when ever mass production begins on them, hopefully it wont take forever to get them produced.

It's 55% azuki, which should be a reddish/brown'ish color. I don't know from where outside of Japan you can get it, though.

Like_Clockwork 2010-03-26 22:37

does airbrushing save paint? haha weird question i know.

Dynamite 2010-03-26 23:14

In a sense, yes it does.
If you thinned the paint well enough, you can put it on layer by layer and know when to stop when its perfect.

Thing is, you use a lot of thinner.

is it just me or did RDamashii release a leg booster unit though i guess they dont fit a 144 gaddess?
http://media.photobucket.com/image/g...08A_final1.jpg
i found that pic while trying to get a color guide pic online for the gaddess. i have 2 colours to mix in humbrol to make that certain turquoise. ive got suitable equivalents for the green and blue though i dont know what the last 10% is.
the pic: http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/image/10091635k2/50/2 it may not be the best atm but i havent had a chance to scan my own for better quality to post the %s

Dynamite 2010-03-27 02:01

RD things usually only fit RDs.
But that things weird. I mean, what is it? It wasn't in the show.
So why on Earth would they release a limited figure of something nobody really knows about...
But they released it last July so no big deal.

But anyways, for the color guide...
Much, much, much better source, bro.

Dynamite 2010-03-27 02:20

They were first used on the Garazzo's first appearance. The Gadessa, Garazzo, and Gaddess all used them when flying with the Regnant to assault Celestial Being.

That color on Mr.Color series is called ''Russet''. I did used this particular color some time ago so I happen to know of it.
Hope this helps.

That helped 150%. I was looking through my paints and I was thinking whether Russet was the right one, but was still skeptical. Now that you said so, my Garazzo is going to look so much more awesome.
Thanks a lot!

thanks, i thought that a 1% chance they might fit exist. i just have to keep dreaming they'll release it fir a 144 GNZ series model. thanks for the link, i checked that site while searching but all i found were general pics of the actual model. i must have entered a older URL b4 they put up the revides pics o.O.

what are the percentages for the 2 colours? my mix of the white vatiation is a bit on the darker side missing some white. though i cant bother to redo it. the enamel paint is hard enough to remove and a 2nd coat will kill the panel lines. i used a white gloss 22 and 90 matt beige green, where did those last 2/4 colors go wrong?
