To keep the discussion enjoyable for all K-On! fans, please follow the guidelines below and stay on-topic!
Note: Please don't use this for the specifics (i.e. episode, chapter, game, etc. discussion), there are other threads for that stuff.
Thread Guidelines
  • No campaigning!
No "hate" or "xyz must die" posts. Discuss why you do or don't like characters without whinging and whining or blatantly campaigning for your favourite.

  • Be polite to your fellow forum members.
Do not insult or harass other members for their likes and dislikes. Do not take it so seriously that you end up in an argument with another forum member because they express a fondness for a character you loathe. Discussion and good spirited banter are always welcome, but harassing people will not be tolerated.

  • Discuss, don't chat.
Please remember that AnimeSuki is a discussion forum, not a chat room, there is a difference. If you wish to chat, then please make use of our IRC channel.

  • Have fun, but post intelligently.
It's great to have fun, but please try your best to add substance to what you post and make your thoughts interesting for the generation of fans that will follow after you’re long gone and on to watching some other series.

  • Use Spoiler tags!
Spoilers are allowed, but they must be enclosed in spoiler tags clearly marked with a proper title. Failure to do this can result in a BAN.

    • Adding a Spoiler tag:
Just highlight your spoiler and click the button found on the "Quick Reply" and "Reply to Thread" forms. Make sure that you include a title for the spoiler!

    • Please use the Report button if you see any spoilers:
Click the button found to the left of the post, just under the poster's avatar. Using the Report button is anonymous and helps the Moderators to locate and deal with problems quickly.

    • Posting prohibited spoilers may result in a ban.
Note: Reporting a post does not mean the poster will be banned instantly. The Moderators will use bans if warnings are repeatedly ignored.

*laugh*
After chatting with several Japanese friends, it was really funny that all of them rated Ritsu as their least favorite character.
...
Well, there has to be this type of character, so it can't be helped.

Aryarya... First post is this.

RITSU IS LOVE

That is all.

Shadow Moth 2009-04-10 19:43

RITSU IS WIN

That is all.

ReddyRedWolf 2009-04-10 19:53

I like Ritsu being the instigator and bakayaro of the group.

She is leadership material compared to the rest of the girls.

Ritsu......

strong & aggresive type.....
as long she has a band.....she's happy!!!!!

Midonin 2009-04-10 23:10

She charges in headfirst, enjoys stirring up craziness and is in the band for the love of it.

With that combination of qualities, I want more of her.

What Kaisos Erranon said. I really like her character.

She's a very fun person:)

Reminds me of Konata a bit, except that Ritsu's a bit more normal. She also has leader qualities and is the open type, which the others aren't really.
Even though she's sorta overlooked, Ritsu is an important character in my opinion.

If it wasn't for Ritsu, Mio would be in the Literature Club and the Light Music Club would have been dissolved.

If it wasn't for Ritsu, no one would have been in the music room to meet Tsumugi.

If it wasn't for Ritsu, Yui would have never seen the performance that convinced her that this was something she could be a part of.

If it wasn't for Ritsu, this show would have never happened. ;)

Hence part of the reason I love her so much. She's what I like to call the "driving force". In general, she's all kinds of awesome. Definitely my favorite in the entire series so far.

You got that right. Ritsu FTW!!

Nukerjsr 2009-04-12 14:31

Ritsu provides the lols. And she makes Mio and Yui much better from her reactions.

She's awesome.

stormy001_M1A2 2009-04-14 18:36

No love for drummer, I supposed.

Ithekro 2009-04-14 18:52

Rarely is there love for drummers. That is why they tend to be the central plot based character to give them time in the spotlight.

Amber.Dawn 2009-04-14 21:03

Drums are awesome though.

Ithekro 2009-04-14 21:11

They are, but they are also in the back so they don't drowned out everyone else. (and to get under the brass section's skin in a symphonic group)

vedicardi 2009-04-15 23:39

I just wonder why she uses such an odd drum kit. I have honestly not seen any kits that use only two toms like that. I'm sure they exist, but I can't see why some one would choose such a small kit like that when a 3 cymbal, 3 tom kit is much more versatile.

I suppose since it's small, it highlights the character a bit more, but it seems very odd to me no matter how you look at it.

Ithekro 2009-04-16 00:07

I believe it is because the model she uses is more easily setup and torn down, making for less time spent doing either. And drummers hate spending time doing those things when they could be drumming...or anything else for that matter.
