So, the raws for the newest Saint Seiya anime are already out.

For those who have already seen it, how was it? How do the new seiyuu compare to the originals?

I want to watch it so bad, but I'm limited by dialup... ;_;

Seiya's new voice actor (Ichigo from Bleach) tries to do a sort of Seiya voice, only to slow slip back into his Ichigo voice by second episode... ^^;

I could barely notice any difference between original and new Shun...

The other three haven't talked enough for me to wonder about them yet...

Kanon sounds like he's trying to be Uchiha Itachi (though Ryotaro Okiayu actually voiced Aoi in that filler episode) o_o

Wyvern Rhadamantys sounds very familiar though... oh wait, he's Yakitate Japan's KUROYAN! XD If he starts talking about bread all of a sudden, I'm gonna die of laughter...

Rhadamanthys has the same seiyuu that he had before, Koyasu Takehito, I believe. :>

I watched the first 2 ovas. To tell you the truth I like the new vice actor for Seiya. His voice is much more appropiate for the character.

Shun's voice was also very fitting.

Kanon's voice and the rest of the other characters haven't change.

As for the ovas I must say that they are quite good. The Opening and ending were the only 2 things that I didnt really like. The graphics are the same or very similar to the tenkai hen movie, which means that they are superb.

So far the anime is following the manga very closely, I just hope they don't skip any chapters because each of the 6th ovas are only 25 minutes long. This means that the by the time they are finished we would not even be half way through the manga.

I highly recommend waching them when they get subbed in English :D

I have not seen it yet, do you guys now what this 2 ova covers...

Another Question, Is this Series Licenced? or is it good to talk about you know what;)

Neither this nor the previous Hades installment have been licensed. The only Saint Seiya anime that has been is the TV show.

Yeah.wanted to make sure, So is there a Fansub ready for this yet? I got the raws but...I really don't like to paste in the SUBS...

The previous hades fansub has been licensed in France ^^

if your subs are *srt then it should be okay

does someone know if subs (ssa or srt) can be found without the video?

I jus finished watching the new saint seiya mekaihen episodes 1 & 2 and have to admit i think they are excellent :D

1-Morita as seiya is really good and aggressive, i agree his voice really
suits seiya!!
2-The animation is a cross between Tenkaihen and Poiseden very nice mix
3-the 12 palace's saga style episode recaps (i feel nostalgic)
4-The ending music nothing special but very beautiful and it also shows
the episodes highlights as the animation to it
5-Shun's voice isnt as bad as expected and you can tell it will definatley improve

1-Opening music hmm its more techno than rock music we come to expect from SS
2-When ppl execute special moves the animation is soooo simple i read
someones comment on another forum sayin they could do better on windows

well we have waited for this for ages and i think its better than all the doom and gloom everyone predicted (me included :rolleyes: ) and the new cast are actually quite good 8.5/10

hope SpA would bring out the fansubs!!!

Does any one know if any groups are going to sub these or if there are srts floating around. I have watched all the seiyas before and still have them on dvd just can't wait for a sub.

It is likely that they will be fansubbed. I'd say that the odds are about 100%

The question isn't "if" they'll be subbed, but "how many" groups will sub them. Heck, it wouldn't surprise me if a brand new group appeared just because people want to sub them.

Hi there... How are you guys?

It's been a long time since I last came here, I wanted to open a topic for Inferno but luckily someone else did before me :) I saw the first two episodes, unlike some of the people I liked the openning and the ending song, they are really great. I was surprised they draw Hades, Thanatos & Hypnos while they didn't show at least a picture of the new Gemini Gold Saint, Kanon! He was supposed to be the new hero of the Gold Saints so why they didn't show him once in the openning. About the ending I hoped if they draw pictures instead of showing scenes from the episode, don't you agree?

Seiya's voice is really great, he did a better job than what I expected, Shun's voice became more girlish but it's ok... Shiryu & Hyoga are similar to their old voices but of course I loved Shiryu's old voice more, now it feels he is younger and that doesn't suite Shiryu even though I know he is around 15 lol... Rhadamanthys, Kanon, Dohko have the same voice actors, that was one of the greatest thing, I am glad the voice actors remained, I mean who else beside Takehito can do Rhadamanthys' voice. Ryotarou also did a very good job with Kanon... The new spectres voices are excellent especially that of Rune, I really never imagined I would hear such a cool voice playing Rune's role.

There are some extra scenes, Dohko, Kanon walking, Shaka & Athena! remember we didn't see Dohko untill the wailing wall same goes for Shaka & Athena, also in the second OVA after Kanon uses his Galaxian Explosion and says: "Sagayo" = "Oh Saga" that alone was too much for me to bear lol, I just loved that moment. See even one word is enough to like certain moment lol (I am a big fan of Saga nuff said)

Yet I feel there is something about the motion, I don't feel it's like the Hades: Sanctuary's ova, I felt the motion there was better than the Inferno, some of the techniques in the Sanctuary chapter was also cooler. Honestly I loved Saga's Galaxian Explosion more than Kanon's Galaxian Explosion, Kanon's attack was simple compared to the attack Saga use in OVA 5 of the Sanctuary's chapter. Rhadamanthys' Greatest Caution in the previous chapter looked stronger and more powerful than the Inferno, he used against Kanon as if it's nothing, yet I loved the Wyvern image attacking Kanon ^_^

Overall the new OVAs are so great especially the second OVA, I felt I was watching the real Saint Seiya ;) I hope the third, 4th ova be as cool as the second OVA was and I hope for some extra scenes as well...

2 new trailers on the TOEI Saint Seiya Inferno site , nothing of interest really for those who have seen the 2 new OVA but thoses who havent it has some clips of the first episode and a chance to hear Morita's take on Pegasus Ryu Sei Ken! which im really starting to like.
I think thats a new picture too isnt it of Shun/Hades we havent seen before

Any information on how many episodes/ovas will there be? 13? 26?

So far they have only confirmed 6 for the Inferno chapter, I think the rumour is there will be another 6 made up to the wailing wall then a movie covering Eliysion
Either way we prob wont see this chapter completed till the end of 2006 begining of 2007

I don't think they are going to cover the whole second part, I mean if they are faithful to the manga the 6th OVA will cover the heated battle on Guidecca road, Hyoga, Shiryu, Kanon vs Specters meaning there are some episodes they will miss, Ikki vs Aiacos, the Wailing Wall..etc even though I hope they stop when the Gold Saints sacrifice themselves to break the Wailing Wall but if they managed to reach there I am sure it will be rushed :(

Ive only saw the first one and it was awesome!, I like a lot the opening theme, the animation is incredible and I didnt notice the change in voice acting, (to be honest I didnt pay much attention to it :o ).

I understood that this is the first part of the Inferno Saga and theres a second one coming, isnt it? I wouldnt like this being cramed:(

Could someone explain this to me a bit? The whole saga goes:
Gold Saints > those Norse saints > Poseidon > the 12 EP hades ovas > ?

I cant healp like I am missing something here, not to mention the heavens chapter thats supposedly after the yet unfinished hades. Couls someone explain exactly how many episodes comprise hades and which of them are actually out?

Then you have the 5 movies Including the Tenkaihen Heaven Chapter Movie
So far they have released 13 episodes for the Hades Sanctuary Chapter and Episodes 14 and 15 of the Hades Inferno chapter with 4 more to be released over the next 2 months after that it is unknown how many we can expect to see

Actually the Asgard Arc is complete anime filler and in terms of the current OVA, it does not take in account this ARC.

The most important aspect is that Shyryu is Blind Before entering the Sanctuary, and He is still blind on the current OVA series,

Follow by the fact that Camus is Hyoga original sensei, and not that made up anime Cristal Knight (BTW, that’s the name of a porn Actress)

Different from Anime, were Shyryu regains his sight after Fighting Deathmask, and he only gets partially blinded in the Poseidon arc by Crysaor, and Hyuga have flashback of his friend training with the Cristal Dude.

I have seen the whole thing then - the movies, was afraid I was missing something. This was the show that got me into anime way back and I still love every bit of it.

Does anyone know what the hell is going on with the AVD releases? They had been steadili comming out but suddenly stopped halfway through the 12 houses and no word on when the next volume is coming out. Its not as if its a high quality DVD release, so this kind of delay seems very odd.

There were problems before, but I'd heard that it was all planned to be released...

...though the translation is utter ass, and I'm tempted to just turn off the subtitles and watch it raw. -_-

Saint Seiya gets no love here. ._.

The Asgard arc was made because Kurumada hadnt finished Poseidon yet so he needed some time to finish it. The Asgard arc is my favorite by far, theres a heavy melancholic tone in the whole thing, and the fights were a lot more dinamic than other arcs, even Hades and its superb animation quality and CGI.

Now that I remember the Heaven OVA has some really dinamic fights, Id really like if they follow that path if a Heaven arc is ever made in the future.

yea i agree tenkaihen was a beautiful film , the fights the animation (my fave fight is when ikki and shun fight the angel cant rem his name right now) but its unlikely we will see this level of animation in the series but if they make the Eliysion chaper of mekaihen as a movie then im sure it will be beautiful as Eliysion is of course the most beautiful place in the universe and would look great in the kind of animation of tenkaihen

one thing bothers me how do u guys/girls see the future of Saint Seiya? its obvious this new cast was brought in for a reason other than the politics we have heard about , the old cast was getting old for one (:rolleyes: i know they were amazing and will always be the best of saint seiya)

I think it all rests this next 6 episodes of Inferno im sure they will complete it upto eliysion but what next? the perfect ending would be a battle with Zeus and maybe seiya dying in battle gloriously

HOw far along is the manga? Seems like Apollo is next on the chopping block, after that zeus is indeed all thats left unless they pop in more stuff from other mithologies like the asgard arc. Come to think of it, something like a mayan mithology based arc would be pretty damn cool.

Theres no Heaven manga as far as I know. It was the original intention of Kurumada to make all the parts, that is hinted in the fight against Saga at the end of the sanctuary chapter, he mentions the three gods (Poseidon, Hades and Zeus) and how he plans to rule over all of them.

Yeah, The Asgard was nicely done, but the bad thing of this was that it hurted the series overall, by the time the Poseidom series beggined, saint Seiya lost a very big share in tv ratings, this forced the anime team to make a poseidom arc compresed in a small number of Episodes, and ended up in the cancellation of the TV show..thats why we are know seen the Hades arc (the best done by Kuru IMO) in OVA and not as TV episodes.

BTW, the last Manga chapters done by Kuru was the Hades Arc, after this only the Episode G are recently made and currently runing. if im not mistaken, Kuru is not the Mangaka, but another person (100% sure that the ilustration is not made by him).

Episode.G's art is by Okada Megumu, and the original story is by Kurumada Masami.

Im not too fond of episodes G artwork, but is really great to see the background of the gold saints. Thats another reason I liked Asgard, there was a background given for every god warrior.

Yep, thats true, the idea using another Mythologies was very cool indeed, but I think the episode G came, because the guys that wanted more money thinked of making a a side story using the Gold Saints, Gold Saints are the fav merchandise wise, Maybe they thinked that doing this would revive SAint Seiya.

Wow....Inferno OVAs starts really great....what a powerful Kanon!!...He looks stronger(and prouder) than his brother ...Finally, Rhadamathys has equal oponnent....but there is a one thing that really interest me....Do you think that Milo,Aiola and Mu were so simply defeated because of Castle barrier(power)..or was it because of Rhadamanthys power??...I can still believe he is so strong to defeat 3 gold knights at once....What do you think..???

thats a difficult one.. It was quite hard for pegasus and the other bronze saints to harm Rhadamantyhs even though they had Athenas blood protecting them from the castles barrier, so maybe Mu and the other Gold saints mights not have been able to defeat him but theres no way Rhadamanthys would have beaten them so easily if it wasnt for the seal on their powers

Even Kanon says in the new Hades episode's 'now I see why you are Ranked so high among 108 spectres' when Rhadamanthys attacks him

Yes, but Kanon was able to stand up after Rhadamathys Greatest caution and didnt look wounded..he was without any scratch.....Does it mean that Kanon is much more powerful than the other Golden Saints??? Maybe stronger than Saga and Shaka..? and i am interested how strong will be Dhoko??

So I finally watched the new OVA episodes 3 and 4 (or 16 and 17 if you prefer) and all I can say is despite being quite pleased with the first 2 it seems like they have taken a step back with these episodes, The big suprise is its not really the new voices that dissapoint infact its the animation!

I mean come on the scene where Hyoga, Shiryu and Kanon are running is just so cheap and crap so bad it made me ill for 2 days please stop using this overhead running scene we always see.One more gripe is Hyoga's and Shiryus attacks I mean the animation is actually good its just the dubbers could have at least pronounced them properley ROZAN SHO RYU HA being read out that slow doesnt have the same ring to it.But Pegasus Seiya's dubber is excellent just like a young Tora Furuya great choice.
The next episode looks quite good on the preview so heres hoping for better things, maybe the next set of OVA will be quite good but I cant help thinking they are being careful on money so they can make Elisyion (supposedly a movie) something special along the lines of tenkai hen if so they all will be forgiven :)

Where did you find ENG subtitles for 16&17 OVAs???

I havent got the ENG subtitles yet for the OVA 16 and 17 but I do have them for the OVA 14 and 15.I think it will be week or so till you can get them for the new episodes
