Keiichi is able to hude himself quite well. However, various classmates search for keiichi, and saying various things which made keiichi react. First things like his mother/father searching for him, however, it quickly turns into some things strange, and keiichi clearly understood it is a trap. however, his pride took a serious blow. (he didn't really enjoyed his victory against mion, considering his tears ^^")

Rena meets up with Rika in front of the storage where keiichi was hidden. Rena assume rika isn't a zombie, and ask the status and wherabouts of Mion and Shion. Rena is wondering where is keiichi, however, she notices that rika approches her and she begins to panick. Rika is indeed a zombie. Things are desperate until Rena noticed Keiichi through the window of the door, pleading for help :heh:

unfortunaltely, Rena shifted everyone's attention to keiichi, who is trapped like a rat in his cage. The 4 zombies are forcing the door (which is the Red door in the trailer 1:heh:). Keiichi is desperate and asks help from Rena... who is running away :heh:

Keiichi is done for, and everyone search for Rena. Rika spotted her, and she is cornered. Keiichi is going to punish her with the "zombie" attack, but Rena gave up, and accepts if it is Keiichi (her pose and expression are absurdly moe and sexy :love:). Keiichi is completely a boner, and everyone comment about this absolute "countermeasure".

Things are done, the ring bells, so Rena won :heh:. Everyone blame keiichi ^^" (oshioki nano desu, oshioki nano desu). Mion reveal that today winners are Rena... but also Shion and MIon who tricked everyone.

Everyone go back home, satoko rika and Keiichi are under punishment game. Rena turns into Kaii mode, and Irie pop from NOWHERE entering also in his fetish mode :heh:

Takano and Tomitake join them (in this chapter, Keiichi doesn't know either of them), and irie introduce them to Keiichi. They are commenting about tommy who is going to go at the festival, however... Takano is commenting about expecting fun things with the murders... which turn the mood PRETTY bad. Keiichi doesn't understand and Takano goes on with her explanations, but Irie stops her, especially considering Satoko and Rika.

Later on, Everyone of the gang explain to keiichi, and mion was sorry that they didn't inform him. this is a big change since keiichi doesn't mind, understand pretty well why they did it and smile.

Satoko and Rika are going to have dinner, but satoko notices that rika is acting strange recently. Rika assures her that she is always herself. Satoko then says that if she has any problem, friends are there in case. this comment make rika reacting immediately, rememberance of Tsumihoroboshi and Keiichi's Speech for rena at the junkyard. She asks if satoko remembers about something or how did she know this... unfortunately she doesn't know and rika is disappointed, though she tries to hide it...

Yay finished, great ep ^^

The zombie game was really well done, and actually looked like a game school students might play. That one maneuver Rena pulled was hilarious.

It looks like this arc is focusing on Satoko. She seemed to recall some memories from another story arc and Rika is concerned.

Don't forget that next episode... it is Kameda-kun show ! this is going to be madness :heh:

Holy rapidly appearing raws, Batman!

There are so many out already, that the best one Im selecting won't even need a re-encode...its fine as-is.

Lots of good scenes in this episode, and zombie tag is done quite well. Espically with Rena's petrify magic.

Now that Keiichi has avoided the flag for Onikakushi-hen, I wonder how things will turn out once Jihou-san (Tomitake) does his usual thing...

I don't know if having Minagoroshi-hen elements (very very minor) in Yakusamashi-hen is a good thing or not, but currently it hasn't done much harm...

Lots of really funky art and animation this ep which makes for some funny capping. :-P

aww satoko's adorable^_^ can't wait to see it!!

The great thing that I especially like about the new "style" of storytelling is that not only it includes elements of the TIPs that were not shown in the first season, but it also expresses symbolisms here and there (i.e.: zombie-gokko, subtle quotes from Kei and Satoko, friendship between Shion and Mion).

Furthermore, I give another plus for the consistency of the true Higurashi feel - the humourous "horror" that Kei felt being attacked by the "zombies" are something that is exactly what Ryukishi07 would write up as a prologue to things to come.

Lastly, Rika-chan + wine + speaking to ____________ = GJ.

Thanks kj, that's the vibe I was getting, but I couldn't put it into words. :)

And even though the zombie-tag was primarily intended to be humorous, it gave off a subtle hint of the creepyness that was usually characteristic of a chapter's later stages. Especially at the door with the red aura, outstretched hands and all. Wonder why.

Kudos to the sequence's execution for combining the 2 ends of a chapter in that though.

Oh well, finally got the raw, and it is much easier to listen, instead of nico heh...
Some comments added and of course, crapload of screencaps (150 to be accurate :heh:)

I hope they will keep going on this pace, the story telling is really much more efficient ^__^

Well yakusamashi is supose to interweave scenes from the question arcs so i guess its normal to see scenes that ressemble those arcs.

Yes, this is Kameda-Kun, which they skipped from tatarigoroshi !
And they will take the opportunity to add Satoko's past as well.

I hope they will somehow cover Mion and Shion past (and why not keiichi, whi wasn't really finely done in Tsumihoroboshi...)
