Umm, so that means Kirei is obsessed with Kariya now instead of Kiritsugu? Someone should send a memo about that to Kiritsugu, that guy will be rejoice now that Kirei isn't after him.
Ah, poor Irisviel. I still feel she didn't told everything to Saber though. |
Gil with serpentine pupils, what do you mean it is not symbolic?!

EDIT: With the way that's everyone's treating Kariya (especially during this episode), I'm thinking that he'll probably be the last of the Masters to survive. Now, normally that would be a good thing. However, from the way that Gilgamesh is goading Kotomine, I can't imagine it being anything good at all. |
Damn, that episode felt really good. I love how they added the chess pieces to spice up the movement during the talk between Gil and Kirei (which was top-notch, by the way) :3 Missing some of Kiritsugu's special quirks in the beginning (though him eating a burger was not bad.. XD) but they have time to show them in the second half and did not really take away the enjoyment.
If someone didn't get why Kirei is one of the main characters of this series, it should be absolutely clear (and hopefully interessting) for them by now. |

So next week is the last episode to be aired before the break isn't it? My only wish is to see Tokiomi stepping out of the mansion. Seriously, in the end I thought Gilgamesh hinted to steal him from Tokiomi just because he was so bored with him. Or steal Berserker because Kirei is interested with Kariya. |
That talk between Kirei and Gilgamesh at the end was incredibly interesting.. Watching a guy slowly realize his own dark nature is intense.
|
Fine episode but that's all. 6/10.

So many foreshadowing in this episode.

I've never watched or played FSN before, but is Saber and Iri's new base what I think it is?

This also explains why there was a magic circle hidden in the shed in FSN. |

Couldn't be more obvious with those chess pieces. |

Oh man that's there new base. Poor Iri, hope she tells Saber everything eventually. Gilgamesh and Kirei's conversation was great. THought he was hinting at taking him, but we'll have to wait and see.

Excellent episode. One of my favorites so far.

When Kirei was explaining the rules for the HGW he clearly stated that a master once chosen will always be on the list of top candidates. You want to kill off the masters because they can make new pacts with orphaned servants. However a master can only be chosen again once there is an empty spot for a servant.
This makes me sort of confused a the end of the episode. So why did Kirei spawn a new sign? Gilgamesh said its because the holy grail just likes him that much....really? Is that the real reason? That's it? I also wonder what the Assassins actually felt like in the novel. Did they realize they were just pathetic pawns since the very beginning? Do they feel betrayed and used? |

Seemed such a waste though since nobody knows exactly how many assassins there were. They could've just sent 20-30 instead of all of them so that they could see be of use.
At this moment none of the servants bar Assassin were defeated and Tohsaka has thrown away his eyes and ears. And while Hetori is impressive it's no where near Gates power IMO. One has a giant army at his side yet the other has unlimited weapons that can fire like a machine gun. He should be more concerned with Berserker who can actually counter the Gate. |
That last conversation with Gilgamesh and Kirei was great. Watching Kirei struggle with what Gilgamesh was saying to him was some good s**t.
Overall another good conversational episode. Also I can't help but feel Iri is still keeping something from Saber. |
