What I am looking to see in this episode is Louise noticing her magic abilities cause she now more emotional connect with Saito.

Wait hold on... She is a void user correct? Or its not proven?

kari-no-sugata 2006-09-17 14:07

Hmm. Even if they use up the OP/ED times, since next ep (13) is the LAST episode (says so in the next-ep preview), it's going to be quite busy...

Shame they spent so much time fooling around with certain things and left little time for the real story...

Hrm... looking at the map in episode 12, it looks like we have:
1) Germania - (where Germany and Denmark is)
2) Gaulia - (where France is/refers to Gaul, the old name for France)
3) Romania - (where Italy is/refers to Romans)
4) Albion - (where England is/refers to Albion, the old name for England)
5) Tristania - (where Flanders/Belgium is?), though it seems to be the place on the map closest to England, which would possibly make it Normandy.

It hasnt been proven that Louis is a void mage but when it comes to void mage, it should have a void familiar and that familiar is called Gandalf (correct my spelling if is wrong). But yea, it has been hint that Saito has similiarities to Gandalf, so from there you can pretty much guess whos a void mage whos its familiar.

Im looking forward to a season 2 (if possible) im just guessing cause of its popularity in Japan. I have read its novel and see that it can have alot of additions for a season 2. Well, is just my hope =P just take it as a bag of salt:rolleyes:

For now, the word it's most likely referring to is "Gandalfr", the name of a fairy in Northern European legends (because other servants with names from similiar legends appeared in vol.8 as well). The symbols on Saito's hand spell out "Gandolf" though.

After seeing this episode, I highly doubt there will be a second season now. Just like what they did with Shana, it looks like JC Staff is changing the ending with this one too, threatening to end the story with the next episode.
Spoiler:

Judging this episode as an anime watcher, I was pretty satisfied. The development is certainly interesting enough to entertain any viewer.

As a novel reader? Well... it's not so good. :heh:

The novel's in-text illustrations should've hinted animation staff to the "important scenes" (important scenes = illustrated), yet, it's a little disappointing to see that most of them were not included:
Spoiler:

Some of them might have been illustrated if only the episode didn't dwell so much on the "treasure hunt".

Anyway, it's a good episode nonetheless, they did a nice job with Louise's frustration and Henrietta's sadness.

Speaking of Henrietta, I kinda feel bad for her because she's got almost no coverage in the anime. On top of that, the anime is ending right before she takes the stage. Poor girl. :(

Yea, is abit sad to see most of the important scenes not being animated in the tv series:(. Yet, i am satisfy they made it into an anime series, and all those ecchi-Saito scenes:p.

edit: deleted materials went to Q & A >.>

The 5th element mage user :). I think the void mage is the most powerful mage compare to other 4 elements.

SoldierOfDarkness 2006-09-17 20:02

I'm talking like what can they do? Like fire users can do fire attacks and such.

5th element.

Does that make Bruce Willis a Gandolf as well? :heh:

Spoiler:

Most of these shows leave an opening for a second season at a later date. The popularity can't be gauged until the show is aired, so they make some changes to give it a reasonable ending, but leave it where they can continue the show later.

SinsI 2006-09-17 23:48

From the looks of this episode I got a feeling that the whole "Void mage&Gandalfr" plot is going to nothing simply because Louise won't have a chance to show off. Such a waste.
A lot of other plot twists are also lacking proper developement and time - the thief, Cromewell, Kirke&Saito, Siesta&Saito, Henrieta&Saito, Tabitha&Saito. :)
The whole story became very rushed, maybe not as badly as Tokko but three to five more episodes (inside the current season, besides the second one) would have made it so much better.

I think I pretty much think the ending would be as what pastprime had mentioned... However, I shall summarise some other endings as well

Is anyone here still considering a Satio/ Siesta ending?
