Just finished reading the series up to it's point of hiatus - I can't believe the author abandoned this project for so long. Honestly, I love the artwork; the design of the characters (fap fap fap), the backgrounds, the zombies - all awesome. And the story is so simple, yet so entertaining at the same time. The author has done a great job creating a zombie-themed story, especially since we're in the century of great action/comedy/horror flicks (lol @ Shaun of the Dead reference in the manga).
I also enjoyed listening to the characters' thoughts and opinions behind their current situation - it really reflects what most of us would feel in the same cases, having to fight and survive while still trying to maintain our humanity. And watching them go through each ordeal as a team really makes you think, "Wow, I really hope that they reach a happy ending together." I am excited for the new chapter release (coming out in a few days), as well as the anime. But now comes of the matter of which company is animating it. People have also talked about the censorship issue, which I think shouldn't be much of a problem (if they are airing it on different late night channels or something). My biggest wish is for the anime adaption to NOT be butchered... I hope they try to keep the animation and design of the characters consistent with the original work. And finally, does anyone know if Xamayon, the main scanlators of the series up until its hiatus, will continue to scanlate the new chapter releases? |
I, too, was interested by this thread and finished reading the manga.
I'm surprised that this hasn't been done before, but the art style is great, and I love zombies. Defz looking forward to this anime |
I just heard about the title when I read the news release, so I checked the manga out.
IT IS TRASHY AWESOME. This is pure pulpy trash but I love it, definetly a guilty pleasure. The characters are fun to read and the art is AWESOME. Only thing is, the art is so great that I could only watch it if it was animated well. This is what killed the Tenjo Tenge adaption for me, the visuals were piss poor. |
I am hoping Madhouse get this.. as long as it's one of their better teams and not Mahouse + their Korean friends.

Any suggestions concerning the cast?
I'd like to see Nazuka, Kaori as Busujima, Saeko. As she kind of reminds me of Sangou, Shizuku from Kämpfer. |
Kaori Nazuka? I don't see her as Busujima. I see her with a lower voice like Aya Hisakawa ala Maya Natsume from Tenjo Tenge

Well can't really think of a VA list I would like, off the top of my head Takashi Kondo as Takashi Yuu Asakawa as Saeko rest I'd have to think about later. god I can't wait for this! |
Marina Inoue as Rei? =D
|
Hmm I'd like to see Kawasumi Ayako as Rei if anyone. Her role as Tazusa Sakurano in Ginban Kaleidoscope still remains one of my favourite characters.

You guys got your wish; Madhouse is doing it.
http://forums.animesuki.com/showpost...postcount=3606 It seems to be the Death Note staff. |
Best news all day.

PS: Having watched Kurozuka, I can tell people that the director may pull the gore very well :D |

Ahh this is indeed good news! Both that the manga continues and that it's going to be an anime.
Hopefully they wont tone down the violence or the sexiness, at all. |
Phew, well, at least Shaft and KyoAni didn't get the anime... Safe... Safe...
Looking forward to this, but wondering about censoring and how much of the plot will be done (since the manga hasn't finished yet; heck, it hasn't moved for a while... Thanks to the manga-ka stopping for a while) |
