sword.impulse 2008-03-27 01:51

is a MG GX really coming out, or was that a custom?

if it is, I MUST GET IT.

That's a custom model built from a preexisting MG frame (probably Strike).

From what i've read in the past few posts. Is there really another way to paint model kits instead of airbrushing? Airbrushes and the compressors really cost a fortune and I need to know whether there are other ways I can turn to to paint my model kits....

Some one mentioned:
-Use Surface Primer Spray Cans
-Use Tamiya Colour Spray Cans
...Is this really possible!?
If yes tell me! Coz the next time I buy a model I'm gonna paint it, I've never painted a model before and I'd love to try... the painted kit pics I've seen in this thread really got me drooling.

dodgethis_sg 2008-03-27 06:35

Uh, yes, it is.

Yeah, spray paints are the way to go if you're not gonna be using airbrushes. Also much easier to paint, IMO. Here be a link:http://www.dannychoo.com/blog_entry/...ling+Tutorial/

I started out painting gundams using spray cans and stuff. The same techniques such as weathering, dry brushing, decals, panel line washes, etc etc can all be applied as well and those don't need an airbrush. Airbrushing is for lazy people :D

Does anyone know of any good custom colour schemes for Wing Zero Custom?

It sure looks alot like the MG Freedom frame (considering the Freedom *ahem* looks like it is the GX's grandson :heh: )

Now that i look at it, it does look like freedom feet, i just built a MG freedom so yeah looks reeeal similar.

btw, PG Strike update, just need to paint both arms and legs. hopefully think about getting the aile pack soon too.

Right, this time I need your guys' help.
Spoiler for Exia:

My request: Suggest to me a new colour scheme for Exia, using (if possible) the first Exia picture as a template. A dark colour theme would be preferred. And if you need more pics, PM me, and I'll get them. Thanks in advance :)

Not bad... Quite cool. You can even replicate the HCM PRO Special Painted Exia!

Eh dude, what colours are you using? I'm going to buy a HG Exia soon and I need to know what those colours are... You've just gave me the inspiration man...

About the colour suggestion... It'd be nice if you paint the bottom part of the legs silver.

Terra 2008-03-28 09:43

I'm the opposite, I only get 1/100 so them doing it in 1/100 suits me just fine.

Thanks. I use Tamiya Color spray cans. I used P2-16 Metallic blue, and PS-1 White, PS-5 black and PS-12 silver. Oh, and flat matt topcoat. Here be the spray can colour catalogue: http://www.tamiya.com/english/products/list/ps.htm

GameraBaenre 2008-03-28 12:52

Putting the Hi Nu conversion onto the shelf for now as these suckers came in yesterday:

I'm planning on revamping my videos for my workshop presentation so this should make for a good kit to run off. I then spent the rest of the night cutting and sanding and only got everything done except the weapons and funnels. More progress here: http://www.gamerabaenre.com/hguc_nu_prog.htm

philmein 2008-03-28 13:04

Now, I'm really thinking whether I should get the 1/144 Nu Gundam. That is by far the biggest and most detailed HGUC model kit I've seen. OMG!

RedWing 2008-03-28 13:28

Does anyone know if I can use these 1/100 Exia hands with other Gundams?

I wonder whether you can combine all 3 packs like you can do with the PG.

Astrana 2008-03-28 15:55

mmmmmm, Avalanche....

whoa, looks awesome. Now post some poses with the Grand Slam bigass sword :heh:

I decided to go to the mall and see how much the 1/100 Exia was... and I felt like I got kicked in the nuts by seeing that there were no model kits left o_O. Just a bunch of 1/144 Seed's that nobody ever buys lol

I RAGE'd :frustrated:

Wonder if Avalanche Exia is gonna be 1/100 Exia with add-ons or whole new body...

Most likely the same mold from the regular Exia. You know Bandai's motto: Milk 'em! :p

Seriously, I honestly hope it's a complete new body as opposed to the same Exia with just add-ons.

Better hope it comes in with a stand, because it can't really stand on its legs with them boosters attached on. When's Virtue or Nadleeh getting a mod?

Critias 2008-03-29 00:32

sidebar: this has probably been asked already, maybe not.

What do you guys do with your gunpla boxes? Do you keep em? I do, but they start piling up. I'm thinking about tossing some and putting the models I keep in them into storage bags or something. Boxes take up too much space :frustrated:
