Nope. The finale will air as scheduled. And I think that's the first time I've ever heard someone call a studio "badass". Nonetheless, I'm still very excited for this episode.

Well well well, they really had to just use this everytime.

FINAL END CARD ;-;

Unfortunately the usual sources failed to bring up a textless version, so I'll be posting this one. And with this, SAO is finished... for now.

Oooh, it's really nice, too! Now we just need the textless version.. abec's the artist for this endcard, aye?

konart 2012-12-22 10:49

Close the world, Open the nExt. Please.

Leon_Lelouch 2012-12-22 10:51

Was hoping that the end card you post will be the textless one lol :D

And was hoping too that they will give a final surprise at the end of the anime that said there will be 2nd season of Sword Art Online anime as I guess it's almost 100% that there will be 2nd season....

Spoiler for :

Avaricia 2012-12-22 11:08

Tsk. Tsk where did the blood and cut on his arm went off?

Haru-kun 2012-12-22 11:13

Hmm... I don't quite understand the fight from the first part, but I do think that the second part about 'The Seed' was well explained. The ending kinda made me wonder if there will be a second season. Love the ending card :) (I wonder who drew it...)

I'm almost 100% sure that abec, the artist who did the light novel illustrations, drew it.

Heathcliff LOL...........

Well I must say, GREAT ending for this season.

Although I am not really satisfied with the anime production-wise, I admit that I am starting to miss the anime towards the end of this last episode. Wow.

The fight between Kirito and Sugou was not as intense as in the light novel but thank goodness, the BGM was the saving grace for the fight scene.

And the second half was basically just the aftermath of the incident. The introduction of The Seed into the Internet, Kirito and Leafa "fairy dancing" and of course Undine Asuna.*so elegant*

An end is a new beginning. This episode concludes the first phase of the entire story. And the story will continue on. Too bad we won't see a second season at least until year 2014 according to the editor of Dengeki Bunko responsible for the SAO series. So, for the time being, let's move back to the light novel instead.

Thanks for these (especially the textless endcard). I was so happy when I saw Sakuya, Alicia, Eugene, and Heathcliff, but then I noticed Sachi and Sugou..

Well, knowing approximately when to expect another season is better than not knowing at all. So that's good news for me.

Yusei Fudo 2012-12-22 13:05

Now we wait for season 2! RAWR

Birdway 2012-12-22 13:51

Oh gosh, Sugou must be one of the most pathetic villains I have seen so far on my life, its so bad that is funny watch him :heh:.

Oh, and that homo happy ending with those guys(fat guy + slender guy) from the very beginning of the series well, happy ending for them :D, at least the author won't throw a new boy each game in order be friendzoned like the girls when trown at Kirito... oh wait.

Ray 2012-12-22 13:58

That was a phenomenal finale. I couldn't be happier with it.

I'm glad that the street brawl with Sugou didn't end with Kirito killing the guy, but scaring him to half death.

Seeing Kirito and Asuna kiss in real was extremely satisfying. I loved how calm and serene the atmosphere in that scene was.

It was so great to see all the side characters in both the real and virtual worlds. Asuna looks so noble and elegant as an Undine. It's always nice to see Sakuya again~

That certainly was unexpected; nonetheless, I'm happy for those guys. :heh:

If you're referring to the reunion scene between Kirito and Asuna, then it went nowhere. I imagine adrenaline began gushing into his body as he made his way to the curtain that Asuna was behind. Plus, it was just a flesh wound. ;p
