Fumi and Akira were best friends when they were little, with Akira always looking after the crybaby Fumi, but that all ended when Fumi's family moved away. Several years later, Fumi's family returned, and she and Akira happened to bump into each other on their way to school. They became friends again, quickly slipping back into old patterns. Shortly after, Fumi began dating a cool, attractive upperclassman who, coincidentally enough, had ties to Akira's current school, the prestigious Fujigatani Girls' Academy.

Manga Erotics F is an alternative manga magazine that seems to be aimed at both males and females. That's why no gender specific target readership is mentioned in this post.

The source of the news is volume 56 of Manga Erotics F magazine.

Now that J.C. Staff is confirmed on working on it, I wonder which staff personal is going to get involve in it. For some reason in the back of my mind I'm hoping it's the same peeps who did Honey and Clover and Nodame Cantabile. Probably it's because of the subdued artwork and the rather mature yet slow storytelling.

J.C. Staff, eh? Well, if they give it the Honey and Clover treatment then I'm all for it, otherwise...

Regardless, I'm all psyched up simply because we'll finally be getting a subdued and maturely written yuri anime (assuming the studio doesn't butcher it) that is not just subtext!

2009 is the year for Erotics F adaptations! Here's hoping J.C Staff put together a great team to work on this one.

If it is from J.C. Staff and given that the coverart of the manga features characters looking like that.. I am guessing that Kugi will be voicing one of the lead roles, if not a supporting role at least.

For real?!

Oh man...this is going to be a must-watch for me for sure now!

more yuri is always good... :P

I would love to see the people who are going to be in charge of this anime--me hopes for Kasai Kenichi (Honey and Clover, Nodame, Kimikiss) to be the director, though.

I'm not sure if I should read the manga to get a sense of what to expect... but something is telling me that I should wait patiently for this anime adaptation... hmmm and hopefully, this is not the last announcement of a yuri title that is going to be seen in this year... :heh:

oh and thanks for creating this thread. :3

The hell?!? This is getting an anime? Well, that's great, though I think Hourou Musuko would be a bit better for it because of it's rather unique premise, though I guess this is better than nothing :).

niwasatou 2009-03-14 17:19

I would have preferred Hourou Musuko as well (what's with it being so popular these days?), but more yuri is always good.
tl;dr fuck yes, do want! :D

As for Kugimiya, if she pulls off an excellent performance like for Touko in Marimite.. I'm game. Aoi Hana doesn't have a tsurupeta tsunderekko iirc. So.. *shrug*
*anticipating cast list anyway*

Because it's good; REALLY good. I guess it's not too popular with the crowd here, cuz nobody posts about it in the manga thread. It makes me sad :(.

And does Kyouko count? She's kinda tsundere... I guess >_>.

Think of it this way: if this is successful it opens the doors to Hourou Musuko getting adapted too. ^^

The manga is brilliant, period. I am very excited about the anime.

An official site for the Aoi Hana TV anime series has opened: (also a promotional video of the anime can be watched)

Not really a big fan of the manga but...

Kenichi Kasai and, above all Fumihiko Takeyama, that's a must watch (Noise is becoming quite interesting, probably more than Noitamina, especially if I think about the last shows).

darkchibi07 2009-03-18 05:25

Whoa, I can't believe I called it! :twitch:

Now I'm assured we're going to get no less of a high quality yuri TV series.

...Be still my heart

I know it's probably not a good idea to get overly excited like this, but I really hope they retain the subdued tone of the manga. Really, really crossing my fingers for this.

Actually I don't know about this one - they're both by Shimura Takako, but being serialized in different magazines.
Hourou Musuko in Comic Beam, Aoi Hana in Manga Erotics F.
There was another announcement regarding an anime adaption of an Erotics F title, so it might just be a magazine thing.

And yes, Hourou Musuko is great and all, but so is Aoi Hana. I propose we talk about HM in it's own thread starting from now? ;)

Official site has been updated with Staff information. Looks like Kenichi Kasai will be directed this. He did quite the breathtaking job with shows like Kimikiss and Honey and Clover, so i must say i'm looking all the more forward to this one.

Heard plenty of good things about this manga. Guess i'll start reading it later tonight.

Checking out the video on the site right now. Looks like the vid is streamed from an MFI website.
