Best to use rubbing alcohol, it works the best on the plain Bandai markers

Soooo, I managed to complete the basic frame of my Banshee Norn today. Now all that's left and the weapons and shit. Fullsize image here.

Some comments:

Looking at the manual, it does look like this suit isn't meant to be panel lined. I think it might just actually pull it off, what with having all those developed grooves and shit.

The hip thrusters and back thrusters have bling stickers for them, which I applied. I'm kinda 2 minds about it, i think paint would be better for the gunpla... though it'd be pain for me. :p

The backpack is heavy. If I stand straight, my Banshee tips over. I had to do a more action-ish pose so that it'd stay upright.

I may skip matte coat on this machine, and just use the matte coat for my Jesta Cannon.

Also, looking at the Banshee, the Jesta connection becomes a lot stronger.

Actually I find on my Banshee Unicorn mode that the ankles are weak, which is probably the cause of the balancing issues, not the backpack

Also how did you get your gold marker to come out like that? Mine spits out this dirt/shit brown thing, no gold at all whatsoever

Usually exceptionally warm temperature

The sun are especially hazardous to unprotected metalic color

So dump it in some very warm hot water before shaking/use?

Hmmmm. True, the ankles did seem weak. Still, the weight of the backpack and the center of gravity isn't helping.

THe big problem I have is that the elbow joint keeps on coming apart, which is annoying. Gonna havta borrow my mom's nail polish to bulk up the joint.

Also, I think what Zero is saying is that high heat is causing the oil and the ink and shit to split apart.

No, bad idea, my yellow marker turned shit because of heat

So keep your new marker somewhere relative cool (not refrigerator lol)

Thats odd, I keep mine in normal room temperature ._.

ZeroXSEED 2014-06-18 02:00

Hmm, then to use the warm water idea

'browning' seems to be a common issue with gold marker in general

What do you guys think of this price?:

http://www.genteikits.com/mgdoubleooseven

I really do want me a MG 00 7S/G in Inspection colors

(Reminder I don't and cannot paint)

If anyone knows a cheaper and trustworthy site to get this from let me know

I think it's a good deal for ths kit.

8000 yen is basically 150% of the price of the standard 7-Sword retail price (5500 yen). The price still makes sense and in your case (living in US and all), I don't think I can find a better deal. I'd say go for it ;).

Patriot's Blade 2014-06-22 11:08

so Keroro Gunso kits are compatible with all grades, has anyone ever tried to mix & match with those guys? :heh:

DuelGundam2099 2014-06-22 23:04

So is there much difference on the regular and the limited edition Gold Beargguy San? Pic related.

So this month's new model kit announcement is... the HGUC Zeta II:

Also, HG G-Self, aka the main mecha for G Reconquista:

- ...Will wait for the actual kit. I'm not sure if I like or hate the design just yet.

ZeroXSEED 2014-06-23 05:34

Man, G-Self looks downright TINY

It's basically preteen equivalent of gundam.

Obelisk ze Tormentor 2014-06-23 06:04

Regarding G-Self, I don’t mind the design at all. It’s the color-composition that I have a problem with. The wing-pack in particular is an eyesore thanks to the glaring red contrast to the blue chest & shoulders. It’s Gundam AGE Titus & Double-Bullet all over again. Bad color composition, too simplistic and toy-like. They should learn from Zeta, X, Strike, Freedom, Exia, 00 & Qan[T].

Oh, there's a HGUC Zeta II? Nice...although it's just a fancier version of the Rezels I'm still glad we get it.

- That design choice was most likely done on purpose. Tomino was quoted as aiming this series solely at kids.

About why I'm on the fence on this: Mainly, there's bits about the G-Self that I actually like--eg still keeping the basic Gundam design while doing something different with it (The head, mainly). But the rest reminds me of what I don't like about the Force Impulse (the scrawny wing backpack that looks more tacked-on than a proper backpack). I think the legs could stand to lose those funny pods.

Also, it feels like the limbs, head and body were done by different designers then slapped together. To wit: The arms look very traditional-square Okawara-ish. The legs remind me of Katoki's Virtual On work, and the torso looks different again--looks like (00) Ebikawa's work.

Patriot's Blade 2014-06-23 11:00

so everyone expects the G-Self to be designed by Yoshiyuki Sadamoto?
Evangelion Rebuild movie versions don't count.........

Rising Dragon 2014-06-23 12:41

I rather like the G-Self's design... right up until I reach the forehead.
