Oh that would definitely come after The MG X. We all know that Bandai likes to recycle :p

LightningZERO 2008-01-20 01:33

I want a MG X normal version with divider shield. I hope Bandai will make a 2 in 1 set :p

I can dream right?

Actually, you can use windows cleaner as well. It works even better than water.

And that's interesting for your situation about Tamiya acrylic thinner not working for you. I've never encountered the problem you had. I've used it with Citadel and Tamiya acrylic paints as well as Vallejo and never had problems. And yes, I have used window cleaner and water with them as well without any problems.

Maybe you could post a picture of the thinner you bought and it's smell.

This is what the shield looks like now (I'm painting the white part of it now, so the blue has tape on most of it):

Definitely smoother looking, I think.

Btw, is white supposed to take a lot of coats to get it covered? That blue required about 4, but I think I'm up to 11 with this white, and its still not ready.

To minimize putting on multiple layers of coatings, you should try priming the parts, or at least the section of the part, that you're painting. I don't paint my models entirely, just partially. And for the primer, I use Tamiya Surface Primer. It works great.

Yea, that would have been a good idea; I'll throw a bottle or two in on my next order.

I ended up scrapping the Gundam I posted above (Hardy Gun #1); the coverage just sucked and I made the mistake of doing panel lines after painting. So for the next kit (which is Tallgeese III), if I am priming the parts (and I have to this by hand, as I'm in a dorm and can't be spraying anything), should I do panel lines before or after priming?

Oh and what do you guys think - Unicorn or Hi-Nu? I'm completely torn between them.

From Gunota:
MG Zaku Cannon in the works

Bandai Hobby Center's Space diary of the Captain blog explicitly confirms that a MG Zaku Cannon is planned. Photos therein are of a prototype display version from last year's Shizuoka Hobby Show.

I think I'm the only person who DOESN'T want an MG Nightengale. I honestly hate the design compared to the Sazabi.

Hooray for more zaku's!

beamknight87 2008-01-22 22:50

I just bought the MG Destiny special version, the translucent effect parts and the figures of Jesus Yamato and Moronic Shinn are plain meh, but the Wings of Light... whoa, they're quite big, much more than what I thought they would be.
Also, got the 1/100 Alteisen model from Kotobukiya, the display figure of Glorious Leader Nanbu looks quite good, I'm looking forward to see how does this thing looks with the LED on.
