Different rifle...maybe will be different colour too. Better wait for some finished product before deciding to order or not

Sigh at Zakus...and I doubt they will be the last variants:heh:

[Tongue-In-Cheek]
Over-Flags are basically cannon-fodder with names.

Cheers.

Overflags are pretty much the Graham Custom with a new rifle. Same mech, same paintjob. Save your money.

Quick question: what compressors are you guys using? I'm having a hell of a time trying to figure out which one will suit my air supply needs, but is quiet enough to be run in a dorm and can be afforded on a college budget.

hey, just wondering, how good is the MG of the Strike IWSP? Think is worth ir over the Aile Strike?

LightningZERO 2008-02-07 13:40

I have Strike IWSP but not the Aile Strike. Overall, I like the IWSP design and it's weapons, the weapon shield is awesome. And about worth it over the Aile Strike, it really depends on which design you like more. Strike IWSP has the Grand Slam, while Aile Strike has that cool display base....

Don't forget the the MG Strike E IWSP is coming out soon, if that interests you.

So, im going to be purchasing a PG. The thing is, im not sure which one to buy.

would anyone thats built a few of them recommend which one? I would consult dalong, but he only rates the MGs.

The strike seems to be what im leaning towards, but i kinda want a zaku too.

Any PG comments would be helpful, thanks.

beamknight87 2008-02-07 20:21

Well, I recently bought a PG Strike and so far, have only built the inner frame. It isn't that quite complicated. Actually it's just a bigger version of a MG to allow the mechanisms to be extremely articulated. However, there are some parts that were quite a pain in the ass to construct, like that block thing that goes between the waist unit and the torso... man, I've never hated the polycaps so much in my life...
The Strike is also quite cheap compared to the other PG's, but sadly, it doesn't have that many extras or gimmicks: it doesn't have any water-slide marks, all you get is a sheet of giant stickers and second, the Aile Striker pack is sold separately with the PG Skygrasper, which I must say is totally moronic, even more so given that they actually released a PG Strike Rouge WITH the Skygrasper and the Aile Striker pack. I was tempted to buy it but the pink color refrained me from doing so.
Still, the beam rifle and the shield the Strike comes with look great, but the real cake is the bigass Grand Slam sword, so shiny and so cool... maybe I'll try some Sanger Zonvolt-like pictures with it lol ^^

P.D. I just watched the Gundam Evolve clip featuring the Strike Gundam. WTF, was that Kira? He just kinda crashed in the middle of a ZAFT mechanic room and raped everybody o_O

sword.impulse 2008-02-07 21:53

thanks for the input beamknight. I've built numerous MGs in the past with no problems, so i just wanted to go to the next step up with a PG. Yeah that is dumb that the skygrasper is sold separately, and if i did buy the strike was planning to get it later anyways. but i did want someone who has built more than on PG in order to compare. because im also interested in char's zaku.

so, how detailed is the cockpit? ive really been wondering about that because dalong doesnt take too many detailed pics of it. and, if you've attempted it yet, how hard is the electric part to get the eyes to light up. that looked the most challenging to me.

and btw yeah i saw that evolve too, that was kinda weird and it seemed like the matrix almost, nice animation nontheless

beamknight87 2008-02-07 22:36

Two hatches have to be opened to reveal the inside of the cockpit of the PG Strike where a little figure of Kira sits. The mechanism is quite simple but looks real neat. If you refer to the actual inside of the cockpit... it's just a block lol, although the whole torso of the Strike looks quite good once you assemble it.

As for the LED... the construction manual gives you an image to show you how to put the wire parts. Once done, another piece seals everything, leaving out just the switch to turn the circuit off or on. It's really easy, however, I wasn't desperate enough to smash open my watch for a battery, to see how it looked lol.
What I have heard is that the battery runs down very quickly and at least I have seen the tutorial of dannychoo for converting the LED to have its power source on a USB but I'm not sure if I will try to do something like that any soon...

sword.impulse 2008-02-07 22:54

thanks, i was hoping it would be a little more intricate, because MG cockpits are always simple and disappointing usually.

alright, is getting replacement batteries easy?

beamknight87 2008-02-07 23:16

It SHOULD be, since what you use are those coin-like batteries that most electric watches have. In Mexico at least you can get a pair of them for less than $1 lol. Also, it isn't quite complex to replace the battery in the Strike. You just remove the armor behind the head and take out the little box where the battery is attached, replace it, put everything back and thats it.

Come to think it, the 1/100 Alteisen from Kotobukiya also uses these batteries for its LED... but they're on the back of the torso... mmm... maybe I'll give it a try for the USB thing with that model before attempting to do so in the Strike.
